Moved to PHX on 9/11/01-pretty historic day. The heat almost caused me to  move back home to St.Louis, but love it out here now. As long as you don't work outside, it's all good. Just make sure you having working AC at your house, in your car, and at your job and you'll be good.
 
It's funny to hear about others who live in Phoenix and ecpecially Ahwatukee(or used to live in Tukee). That's where I live. On Ray Road at 36th st. across from the Fry's grocery store.Your right about the housing in tukee, definitely not where you want to be, but my daughter goes to school there and I work in near by Chandler so it work out for me.
 
In one more month and we'll be the envy off all across the nation.

You arent in the bad part of Tukee.. Ray and 36th is still within reasonable location to get into town, especially with the 202 connected, although I have a friend who lives off Val Vista and Elliot and he chooses to go through town to get to the 60 saying the connection to the 101 from the 202 is bad during rush hour, they made the connection work but not enough lanes already.

Yep...another 3-4 weeks and we are gonna be loving it. Yesterday 110 at noon wasnt fun though.

Its a dry heat and its real nice there all winter long ---Just dont like the monsoons that take the electric out

Yea, in other words just stay inside something that is air conditioned all day.   

Sounds like a great way to spend the summer.

Its been in the mid 80's this past week in Santa MOnica, Ca.  I've been miserable as hell. 90 degrees is my limit.

UMMM not even close.  My oil bill in the winter is a kick in the balls!  My AC electric bill is much more tolerable.

In Jan it should be in the 60s or so, but the SB is indoors..so doesnt matter.

If I were coming for the game I wouldnt stay near the stadium, there really isnt much there, especially for golfing.

It's really too bad that stadium didn't get built in Tempe.....perfect location for events in the city.

Holy crap!! I moved to Phoenix from KC on 9/11/01.....and moved to Ahwatukee. I was farther west near Desert Foothills and Chandler, just west of the Safeway there. Freaky, man! I absolutely loved it out there. And I liked Ahwatukee......I had no big problem with the location. Tough to get to N. Scottsdale, but who cares. Easy access to airport and Tempe. I worked in Tempe so I had no problem with the commute.

Nobody believes the weather out there ain't that bad......it'll be getting damn nice there shortly.

I'd imagine it would suck being in 100+ heat if I weighed 250 pounds and resembled an underdeveloped fetus.

Now this is some crazy shit. Me and my best friend spent 9/10/01 loading up the 20 ft. Ryder truck, so when we woke up on that terrible day we had to go.  We had thousands invested in that moving van, so the show had to go on.We moved from STL and ended up in Ahwatukee by chance. A apartment locator found us a townhome at the Preserve on 44th st and Ray. I had been to Tempe before in a previous visit, but never heard of Ahwatukee, now I can't see myself leaving. I have to say that is a pretty weird coincidence that were both from Missouri, moved here on 9/11 (of all days), and ended up in Tukee.

Wallstreet- I agree about living in the Foothills, that shit goes way to far back for my liking, plus I can't afford a home back there. The big Tukee money lives in the Foothills. Niiiiiiice homes...............1 more month and we will be.

I like that area you referenced, the foothills..that isnt bad at all. I was checking out the area for a possible business, down by the 101 and the 202 south..I wouldnt mind living there if I had work close by.

Fountain Hills just doesnt appeal to me. I would rather size DOWN and live in Scottsdale personally.

A dry 70 degrees doesn't feel nearly as good as a normal humidity 70 degrees.  Actually feels more like 60 degrees.

Another month and PHX is the place to be, while we are in the 70s in Jan you will be below ZERO..

We all know PHX is hot for 4 months of the year, but those 8 months of awesome make it all worth it.

I thought you were threatening to throw me in the box for talking about the Phoenix weather.     Maybe I misread that.  

 

I'll be around.   I have said many times that I don't mind cold weather.   In fact I like it.  And Wisconsin is not as cold as people think it is most of the time.    Last December it was in the 40's almost every day.

 

The really cold months are January and February.   It's starts to warm up in March.

Greyhound - Are you a Wisconsin fan?  There were 30k Badger fans here in Vegas last weekend.  I have to say, it was kinda fun watching them squirm most of the game, as they were getting beat by one of the shittest teams in college football.
 
If I dare generalize, if most Wisconsin fans don't like the heat, they sure don't mind Las Vegas.  I'd guess over half of them didn't even have tickets to the game.  There were swarms of Badger fans all throughout the casinos during the game.
