Phoenix sets record with 29 days over 110 degrees in one year

How do you figure the hot weather is going to end in 3 weeks? 

You're still going to be in the mid to high 90's at least for another 2 months.

And for some reason I get this feeling that these 100 degree days are going to be sticking around longer than usual.

When you live in this climate, 90s are GREAT! It means lows at night into the 70s, very comfortable and highs in the 90s until middle October.

Oh and I made a mistake, it is EIGHT months of awesome, not just six.

Believe me, I grew up in your style of climate, I take this hands down...

By the way,   Uncheck "Show Records"  and "Show Last Year" on these maps.

Sorry, but I just could not take that hot weather you guys get out there.          It's been pretty hot and humid here for the last couple of weeks and I'm dying.  

 

72 degrees and 50% humidity right now.

I just moved out of Phoenix and it had nothing to do with the weather. The weather there is awesome. And 90's are VERY comfortable.
 
Even in the summer the heat is bearable to play golf, go to the pool, etc. As long as you ain't digging ditches it ain't bad. Hell, it's hot everywhere in July and August. Difference is, it never gets cold in PHX!
 
Damn, I miss that place already.......

Why did you move, job related reason?

I didnt know Ed lived out there. Why ANYONE would live in Ahwatukee is beyond me..no way I would ever do that.

Even with the 60 widened completely, the commute into town is a total joke from there..

Hey now........I lived in Ahwatukee!!! I actually loved it.....of course I worked in Tempe and didn't have much of a commute. I loved it there. I lived about a block from Ed.....

I left for work related reasons, yes. I plan to move back someday provided you all don't run out of water first!

I grew up in your type of climate, been in Az for many years.
It's not as bad as you think It's easier to cool off than warm up.

I learned my lesson living in Pennsylvania. Lived in the suburbs because of pricing and had a monster commute just to the outskirts of town.

Moved here 5 yrs ago, right on the tip of Glendale and PHX, near the 101 and the 17..in that area.

If I had to do it again, I would have scrapped the bigger house (got a big house here) and live in Scottsdale..better appreciation and location to town.

Places I would never move-

Litchfield Park
Goodyear
'Tukee
Surprise
Fountain Hills
Queen Creek

In a bad market, these areas (Fountain Hills not so bad) are taking a big hit and near impossible to sell without dropping prices heavy.

Fountain Hills is one of the best places to live in the valley. Scottsdale is okay, but there are a lot of fake, pretentious people that live there(Especially the chicks). Too many $30k millionaires living there. These people drive BMW, Mercedes, but most are leased. They are trying to be someone they're not. BTW, it's still hot as shit here. Don't let the "dry heat" fool you. There's a lot of heat left too. It doesn't start to cool down til November.

Shea is a joke during rush hour and although FH is a nice place to live, it is very limited as to things you can do..and the prices are a bit too high for the drive to me.

Living on 190th St, 100 blocks from the freeway is too far for me..

Its relative bro..

Just like 40 to 50 degrees is tolerable to people there, certain temperature ranges are tolerable here.

I call 90 in mid day as quite tolerable actually....

with the addition of grant hill phoenix should go over 110 quite a bit this year.

How do you figure its easier to cool off than warm up?  Ever hear of a jacket?  Also, heating a house is a lot cheaper than air conditioning it.
