The only Asian people who find riced-out offensive are Asian people who drive riced-out cars.

Please ask somebody you know who is Asian at work or outside of,  if that is offensive.   Comeback and tell us how that went.  Maybe next time you will think twice before you talk for an entire race you know nothing about .

I cannot believe this thread has turned into a discussion over whether or not Riced Out is offensive. Well as I have stated many times here before, I am 1/4 Japanese and have quite a few Japanese friends and obviously family, and believe me, we do not find that car related slang offensive at all, in the Asian community, that car slang is found quite humorous and we also use it. I suppose Asians either have thicker skin than some of you pansy white guys or perhaps you pansy white guys are obsessed with creating something out of nothing. Riced Out, Riceboy, and Ricer are labels that are given to someone who PIMPS out their car whether than car be domestic or Foreign with unnecessary modifications.

Oh I am sorry, Did I offend any PIMPS out there?

So Mr. 1/4 Japanese (suddenly his mixed ethnicity is on full display) speaks for oh,  billions of those who are of Asian decent in the world.



He's so proud of that mixed heritage when it buffers his 3/4 Caucasian side, that is, telling us which Asian racial stereotypes are appropriate in the white world because he has a foot in both, albeit 1/4 foot and a 3/4 foot, however that works.

What a great favor he's done for the forum to allow import cars to be called ricers. No offense taken guys! 

How will we ever pay him for this solidarity enhancing favor!!!????

crod I've never had a problem with you but when people look at you do they see an Asian person?  No.  Do you consider yourself Japanese, probably not.  Excuse me if I take your opinion with a grain of salt.

It seems that in typical Scal fashion, you have chosen to selectively respond. I again implore you to inform me which  entirely White town it is from which you emanate? More importantly, how can you possibly claim to have seen such horrible racism in the "real world" when you spend your entire day arguing with bigots on Covers.com? I feel confident in saying you haven't even seen ONE Black person this entire day.

I can't just cross the street, as you suggest, as I live in a city with a 60% Black population. It is my choice to live and work here. No, I do not own a murse. Such an object does not suit my purposes. I do own a gun. This object does suit my purposes. Unlike you, I do not feel wholly comfortable using a vibrator as a means of fending of combating a home invasion in one of the two or three most crime-infested cities in this country.

I wish you continued success in eradicating America's rampant racism problem, one bigoted message board at a time.

Ask a Black person in Jasper, TX how comfortable they feel walking past a group of White guys when it's dark. 

We can all point out the dangers of any racial group. Simply asking the question the way it was presented is meant to reinforce your own racial stereotypes prejudices.  I have travelled all over this country and met many different people. I take them at face value and don't prejudged. Are there racist White people? Of course, but you have Blacks, Latinos and Asians who are racist or hold prejudice for whatever reason. The problem is people who are this way try to justify their BS with lies. No one person represents a entire race plain and simple and just because you read in the media about some Black or Latino kids committing crimes doesn't mean you don't have White kids doing the same thing. You just don't hear about it.

Just an example some of the largest financial scams have been committed by Asians but if you read the media you would think that only White guys committ these crimes. Again thats just an example. There are many others. Racism is a mental disease plain and simple.

Theres a reason stereotypes exist. More often than not they are on the money. Think of any stereotype you want and you will find it holds true more than 50% of the time. Things happen enough, it becomes a trend.

You arent inventing the wheel Scal, but you are spinning them.

Actually Scalabrine is right on the money. Many studies have shown that crime is divided by income levels much more so than racial lines. But there is still a huge difference in convictions along racial lines. For example, White kid in Philadelphia is busted for selling drugs small time stuff maybe he gets probation. Black or Latino kid with the same background as the White kid gets jail time. This is indisputable it happens every day in this country. We need to change that. 

The same thing goes for white collar crime. White guy commits white collar crime he goes to Club Fed. Black or Asian guy commits white collar they going to Prison. Not in all cases but in a over whelming majority this is what tends to happen. 

Now if we're talking murder cases the White guys will get convicted along the same lines as everbody else but the vast majority of those on death row are men of color. The disparity is too large to say it's just a coincidence.

Doesnt happen. Rates of fatherlessness are rampant in a certain race. Fact. So 15% of the population commits 1/2 the crimes.

Sounds even even to me.

You have both ends of the spectrum in these threads with both having some validity to what they speak, but it seems you're one of the select few that understands what is actually going on. Racism wouldn't be as prevalent in this day and age if most took this stance.

I am proud to come from a Japanese background despite only being 1/4, and I know that you have been told this probably a million times in your life, but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Let me ask you an honest question, if you had one grandparent 100% black, would you in turn consider yourself black or white?

If you think that statistic you're floating around is reality I suggest you read post #81 slowly and maybe you will have a better understanding of the reality of the situation.

Crod I will say this to you. Don't let nobody define who you are. I think that it's great that you have embraced your ancestry. Everybody should be proud of who they are. I have had racist ask me if I had the choice would I rather be white. I tell them "hell no" I'm proud of being Black and could care less what some ignorant racist thinks. The mere fact that you have identified with your Japanese background speaks volumes about your family and how you were raised. Don't let ANYBODY take that from you.

Listen people especially to the White racists on the thread. If you know history or study it you will see how ignorant you have become. There isn't a pure race in the world. Look at a map of Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia. History is full of the mixing of the races whether by war, or migration. 

I'm not going to get too deep with you but if your ancestors include, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and most of Eastern Europe then you most definitely have some African blood in your family tree. That's just a historical fact that's indisputable. 

Most African Americans have Caucasion blood as well as Native American blood. We have become over the course of 400 years genetically different than Africans because of this. History is full of this type of intermingling. How do we get red headed Mexicans? Because when some of the Irish who came here and were discriminated against heavily decided to move to Mexico same with some German immigrants. Take a trip to Guadalajara and see some of the finest blonde haired Mexican women you will ever see. 

Have you ever heard of Black Mexicans? They exist. Check out Vera Cruz or some of the Northern states of Mexico. You see when you take the ignorance out and put education in then you can see there is no room for BS like racism. Get educated, travel. see the world and quit all the dumb s***. We're all human and we come from Planet Earth. Be proud of who you are but be respectful of others people's culture.

More education for racist. What country has the highest population of Japanese outside of Japan? It's not the United States.

It's Brazil. How many people know that. What's my point you may ask. My point is simple. When you put the ignorance down and actually start reading and learning you wont have the time or the energy to be a racist. The world is far more interesting without that negative energy trying to pigeon hole everybody into your own warped sense of reality which isn't real at all.
