I do a good job of staying objective dude. I really believe they are ruining the sport in an effort to increase scoring. And if someone landed a shot like that on Big Ben I would argue for a flag on the field. But a suspension? No way.

Meanwhile these hits have been a part of the game since 1920, and these stupid fucks are too stupid to know it because they've only been watching football for two years.

I've posted clips of players making vicious hits with helmet to helmet contact. Players of today and players of yesterday. I could do that all day long. But you guys are still right. He's a loser, a deusch, a piece of shit human being, a thug, a classless prick... And the NFL is really looking out for the best interest of it's players and it has nothing to do with any attempt to increase scoring And all of Harrison's hits last year were dirty and he deserved to get fined That's the best one of them all. I'll never understand how people watch those plays and blindly agree with the media.
And really, his personality isn't the issue. I don't care how nice or mean the guy is. Maybe he is a POS. But none of those hits last year warranted a flag, let alone a fine. NONE OF THEM. And if you can't watch them and realize that, then you clearly don't know football that well.

Also... there is no rule against hitting hard as you stated. And there is nothing wrong with hitting hard. However, you are, in a way, correct. Players do get flagged for simply hitting hard, and the call will be "hitting a defenseless receiver" or "unnecessary roughness". This happens because the league is turning into person, I mean flag football.
Serious question though: Do you really think that if a player tackles someone "too hard" that it is dirty or unnecessary?
Colt McCoy is the one who left the pocket and was asking to get hit. Anyone who watched this game can see James Harrison lead with his arms and his helmet inadvertently hit McCoy’s helmet at impact. Any other player in this league that play would be fine but Harrison it’s a suspension. And yes, the NFL has become incredibly soft just like what Gary Bettman has done to the NHL with all his fruitcake rules but what do you expect from a lawyer that never played sports in his life. One of the main attractions of both sports have been the violent nature of it. I don’t understand taking that away from both sports.

In hockey... no. The fights are part of the game. In football... yes. Richard Seymour for the Raiders punches somebody the second time this year (mind you, he ASSAULTS somebody on the field of play) and doesn't get suspended. James Harrison makes a football play and gets suspended. Mmmmmm.

Not sure if I believe you, but that's funny stuff. I mean, I believe he could make that mistake, but if you really do have his personal email AD, please PM me and tell me what it is. I would love to personally tell him that many consider him the most bad ass meanest MFer to play the game in the last 50 years.
On a serious note though, it's a shame that 20 years ago he would be an automatic HOF inductee. But in this day and age, he's a head hunter, a thug, and a dirty player.
And it's a shame because he doesn't play any differently than anyone else ever has. But the media has a way to convince sheep that he does. If you would quit with your laziness and do a little research you would see that his hits are clean and legal 5 years ago. And 10 years ago. And 20 years ago. Compare them to Lambert's hits. To Ronnie Lott's hits. To Greg Lloyd's hits. To Mike Singletary's hits.
I know the rules have changed. I'm aware of that. But when you tackle a football player that is running for a first down and your head touches his head... you're getting fined and/or suspended. Does that make any sense?

But please... how do you "regulate" hitting? If you're a linebacker and it's 3rd and 7, and you're playing for a first round bye and a divisional opponent is driving for a go ahead TD late in the 4th quarter... you don't have to distinguish whether or not he's an RB, a WR, or a QB. And it's not your job to do so. I'ts not, nor should it be. HE'S A BALLCARRIER AND HE IS RUNNING WITH THE BALL TRYING TO GET A FIRST DOWN. And you can't "regulate" your hit! You just hit him as hard as you can to try to cause a fumble because that's what you do when you play football!"
The only thing sillier than you is that I need to explain this to you.

My objective here is actually an effort to save football. Forget that you're a Browns fan. Forget you're a Raven's fan. Forget for a minute that you hate the Steelers and James Harrison.
We are all fans that love... and I mean... love this game. And if you cannot see (or choose to ignore) the problems that these new rule changes are creating, then I really cannot argue with you.
