Add 15-20% of that total for non-economic damages (pain and suffering).
That's a ballpark estimate. Medical bulls may be less if you had health insurance coverage and depending on the state you live in
I had full coverage and i live in California. The bus company that im suing had killed 11 people this year alone. They have a bad reputation and my attorney assures me all the time of the strength of the case.

If you had full coverage for your bills , the insurance company probably paid less than the 30k total charges. You can only recover what they paid, not what was charged. No evidence about prior bad acts by the bus company would be allowed into evidence most likely. What type of health insurance did you have? Medi-Cal?
Your case is probably worth 35-40 k. Take any offer above that

My mother was hit by truck a couple years ago and her lawyer unfortunately settle for 50 k. She got around 30. She had no bones broken and spent a couple hours in the ER. She sued private company.

your mom got 30k for getting hit by a truck UNINJURED!?!? AND GOT 30K!?? Shitttttttt I would take a truck thumping for 30k plus a broken arm and leg. Whats with you and your family getting hit by vehicles anyway? I have never met a single person that has been struck by a motor vehicle...except this idiot in high school who literally tried to cross the highway and was struck and died instantly and pretty sure he was jacked up on pills. Regardless, best of luck buddy

Well if you are having your deposition taken on Thursday, litigation has already been initiated (there are some slight exceptions to this, but its 99% true), so automatically take out litigation costs first (court filing fee, motion filing fees, court reporter fees) and then deduct 30% from whatever you get offered.
Also, you won't get an offer on Thursday. Your deposition is where the other side gets to ask you questions under oath on the record. This is part of their fact finding actions in defense of the case. They will not offer you money on Thursday, I'd be 99% sure of that.

Unfortunately settled for 50k? Your mom got a great deal. If I was defending that case (no broken bones, clear liability, few hours in ER), depending on the PT/chiro bills, you'd be lucky to get 30k total (again, depends largely on the medical charges)

No i was not doped up, it was just a general cleaning. Unfortunately the bus was behind me and not in my peripheral vision, With that said shouldnt the bus have seen me since im in the middle of a crosswalk. Im not at fault because i had the right of way
First you tell us that it turned in front of you, now you are telling us that it was BEHIND you.......Which was is it???? I am still trying to figure out how a bus can be behind you on a crosswalk unless you were doing some retarded skipping or were jumping around like an idiot.
Aren't you supposed to look both ways when crossing the street whether or not you are in a crosswalk?? Wouldn't you have been able to see a BIG FUCKING SCHOOL BUS coming??????
This "lawsuite" should go down as one of the best.

as much as I hate bus drivers because they are all on speed and drive like fucking retards, I also fucking hate idiot pedestrians who think that having the right of way means u can walk in front of a speeding bus.
it sounds like your case falls right in the middle.
look both ways b4 crossing the st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and if u c a fucking bus barreling down on u, y dont u wait the 3 seconds it will take for them to pass?
and if u didnt see it u deserve to fucking get hit.
i mean abus is only 29 ft long and weighs 10 tons and sounds like a fucking airplane
how could u miss that?
also the crosswalk lines arent a fucking force field
they wont stop a vehicle from plowing into u
but since we live in a society where douche bags like u can sue to make a living i guess u will get something...
id give u your medical bills(30k) + a years worth of loss of wages for someone with your experience in your profession (which is probably 20-30k)
'even tho i dont know who u are or what u do, u cant b too bright to walk in front of what amounts to a small building moving 25 mph...'
minus 30 fucking % for ur scumbag lawyer.
so basically you will end up with 10-20k
if i were the bus company I would stipulate that u get ur money but the bus driver can punch u in the stomach as part of the deal...
then hopefully as u walk out of the courthouse u get hit by another bus and die and they donate ur money to charity where it belongs
everyone wonders y the cost of living is so high?
because of ridiculous lawsuits that are priced into everything

while this is harsh, I can not say that I disagree with it.
After all it does take some effort (or lack of common sense) to get hit by a bus.

Well, I did thats why im fucking suing then because I did have the right of way, I was checking both ways when i crossed which is why i missed seeing the bus when i was checking the opposite way.
