You are the one taking personal shots bro, saying I don't know this and that.
We just have to agree to disagree. I'm not a law student and never said I was, but the fact of the matter is people have been convicted with way less evidence and she should be locked up for the rest of her life. Do you want to argue that?
Letting you know nothing about criminal law or this case, isn't a personal shot. It's just a fact that everyone in here can see. I enjoy a good convo, but it's give and take. You bring up the 31-day argument, I give you the reasonable doubt side of it. You bring up manslaughter, I give you the reasonable doubt side of it.
We both know she did it or had something to do with it. And yes, some have been convicted with far less evidence (circumstantial)...but that just wasn't the case in today's verdict. The defense nailed the closing argument (2nd half of it) and that's what won the case.

I can agree with that, and I'm not here to argue over the justice system but the phrase reasonable doubt it a joke.
Seriously, anything other than the judge and jury witnessing the murder I could bring a case against the phrase reasonable doubt.

EIGHTY -- "reasonableness" as a concept is something that has perplexed some of the greatest legal minds in history, so don't feel like you are alone in being frustrated with the concept. Nevertheless, the reasonable doubt standard is a good standard for criminal trials if you ask me.

Reasonable doubt can be a joke in some eyes, but it's HUGE in a circumstantial case. Especially with a case so media driven on GUILT. Nancy Grace has been spouting off at the mouth on her guilt for 3+yrs. This HLN host is doing the same thing, the on-lookers they're interviewing outside the courthouse are doing the same thing.
Like it or not, Reasonable Doubt is a plausible argument in the US.

Whatever judicial system that is going to convict Amanda Knox for murder. It is wayyyyy less obvious that she is guilty, but she will be convicted because thats what SHOULD happen when you kill someone, especially a child
You still haven't answered the question

Let me play devils advocate for a minute - suppose she didn't do it. Suppose someone who was watching the kid did it. Now, every time she would call to check in on her, they'd tell her she was fine. Maybe THAT'S the exact reason she stayed out for 30 days.

No mother in their right mind would leave their kid with a stranger.
I say stranger because none of Caseys family or friends knew this lady.
Even if she did have nothing to do with it, her child died and she is suppose to take care of her. Even if she had nothing to do with it she should still be charged with neglect homicide or whatever.
The fact that she prolly did do it, and was charged with nothing is an injustice.

Some things I agree. I'm not 100% certain she did do it and I'm not 100% certain she didn't. I will say this....I've been to treatment, AA, NA and every other 12 step program and like most of us alkies, druggies, etc know, that substance runs your life. I've met more than a fair share of people who dropped out of life for a helluva lot longer than 30 days because they have the disease of drugs.

the problem is not the jurors, or the attorneys..........its the Court system, the standard of "reasonable" doubt is not understood by the average person (i.e. a lay juror).......any doubt suffices, and its proven time and time again

Again this verdict shows what morons Americans are. In any other country she would have been convicted in two hours. Any jury that lets a monster like this off are nothing but idiots. The way these people think Charles Manson would never have been convicted today. I've been on jury duty many times and because of liberal "thinkers" we couldn't convict Ted Bundy today because there wasn't enough DNA connecting him to the crimes. Just another verdict that proves that we as Americans have devalued the lives of children because of abortion rights.
