i'm talking kids in the 5 - 10 range.  anyone with good or bad experiences?

Any kid that ever took a karate stance pre fight or some even would state out loud "I know karate! Don't fck with me!".....

Either way karate and taekwondo kids got the crap kicked out them everytime.
That's all I know. Lol

I'd go with boxing but that's just me. The kid on the school playground that knows how to square solid punches usually ends the fight in 15-20 seconds.

Then again kids these days don't fight anymore, they call each other names on the internet.

it's not for fighting.  it's more for an activity.  maybe help them learn discipline, when to act out and when not to.  that kind of thing.

My son goes. I went when I was young. Pick a good dojo that emphasizes discipline and respect.

I think its a great activity.

Karate is like Cub Scouts. Every kid is a part of it at one time or another, but no one ever stays with it. The few adult rogues who can't get the martial arts out of their system open studios in run down strip malls later in life and try to convince people that it is just what your child needs. A karate instructor is on a lesser level than a Boy Scout pack leader in my opinion. Just Google "karate instructor arrested" and see what happens.  Take that for what it's worth.

cano, you could combine the two, the outfits aren't that far apart.

Maybe check into Ju Jitzu clubber. All the lil turd kids on my street really like it. Their parents are happy with the discipline/focus side as well as the defend yourself ability. Big thing here in Ca.

Scary stuff. Honestly, it's like a perverse religion. The Karate Kid movie may have been the most misleading thing to ever happen to civilized families.
