Now for the latest "not so good news"
 
VT Injury/illness list:
 
Tyrod Taylor didn't practice monday because of 'Flu' symtoms. Coach Beamer thinks T.T. will be ok by saturday.
 
Two starting offensive linemen, OT Wang and Center Shuman also sat out monday's practice.
Coach says he's hopeful that both Wang (leg) and Shuman (knee swelling)  will be back at full speed for saturday.
 
Starting TE Greg Boone, was also out of monday's practice with a
'sore hamstring'.
 
Beamer said "we need all those guys back, so we're going to take it easy with them".
 
These 4 guys are all starters, and "key" players......and whether they are back or not 'could possibly' make a big difference in this game.
 
Stay tuned later in the week to see how this trends out, but unless those guys are still really hurting saturday -- none of those guys would miss this "ACC Championship" Game, for anything in the world.

Double dido here........VT will be ready......and Tyrod Taylor will be able to show a whole other dimension of offense that BC didn't have to deal with when Sean Glennon was the struggling QB in a downpour all night.  BC barely held on against my Irish!!! They couldn't even put away a lame duck team like Miami at home on senior day!!!  I sense a Catholic bitch-slap comin.......

BC has been going down hill since they fell out if #2.  Hope the line doesn't go above -4 for TECH>

After the game earlier this year between these two, i sat on my couch wondering just how in the hell did Virginia Tech let that one slip away and  burn up my money in the process. I will take them again this time, and if they dominate the game, they better do it for all 60 minutes, and not let it get away in the last few seconds again. I do believe that the spread will increase though. No matter, i will buy it right back to where it started off originally.

Starting center (Shuman) getting knocked out with an injury in the first meeting was big too..hopefully VT won't have as many problems with the snap. Conditions will be better and that always helps the faster team (see VT). THis one might be close for a hlf but the Hokies cover

I hear that everybody was back to practice, but maybe not 'full tilt' as yet, except for Shuman.
 
All....are 'expected' to be back for THE game. We really need Shuman in there. I didn't know it previously, but he played at UVA on an injured leg (ankle sprain, I believe) and still got enough leverage to play well enough to help win the game, even if he wasn't at 100%.
 
I don't see how some of these guys do it, play injured and hurting, I mean. Vince Hall (middle LB) played, even after the steel pin the doctors inserted into his broken finger came loose and was sticking out 1/2 an inch from the skin. They removed it, although he was in great pain, bandaged it with a soft cast, and he either led, or was second in tackles for the game.      
These guys take the game seriously.

Every bone in my body is telling me that VT wins and if anyone is going to roll anyone up, its going to be VT. I think one way or another this one is going to be tight and be a 3-5 point game...when in doubt i gotta stick with my gut...BC to cover by a hook.

Correction:
 
It wasn't Vince Hall that had the 3 inch steel pin sticking out 1/2 an inch from his finger and went back into the game and finished it, after doctors removed the pin with surgical pliers and put a soft cast on it. It was Josh Morgan, my bad.

The BC coach is living on the edge isn't he?  First he 'dances a jig' on Worsham field, after their miracle comeback -- and now he's begging (dissin') coach Bud Foster to "play that zone defense again, coach?"
 
Keep it up Jagz, keep it up..... like the Hokie's NEED more bulletin board material, or anymore motivation.

Now that my Canes are officially D U N, done....with my buddy Blackjack's approval, I am now a full fledged wanna be Hokie.....Va Tech will destroy BC...and I do mean DESTROY!

Yeah..this guy Jagz rubs me the wrong way too. Looks like BC will keep their Bowl winning streak alive by pounding Penn St. in that Champs Bowl.

Nobody expects BC to just 'roll over' for the Hokies tomorrow. And Boston College is playing 'Virginia Tech' in the ACC championship game tomorrow -- NOT....West Virginia, although I'm sure it was a just a 'slip of the tongue' on your part.
 
jaybirdy.....looks like all the banged-up Hokie players will be back for tomorrow's game. Have heard less on TE Boone's injury (hamstring) than the others, but he's supposed to play tomorrow.
 
Expect to see a lot of Tyrod Taylor tomorrow, although Glennon will get his share of time as well.
 
Hokies are a 'senior laden' team, and seem very focused and determined here.

Boston College and Matt Ryan have been slightly overrated for much of the year.  Their first 8 games the only tough team they played was Georgia Tech, and that was a solid win.  Virginia Tech beat them up and down the field in their first meeting, then threw it all away and allowed Matty Ice to take the game from them.  This is on a neutral field where it will simply come down to the players on the field, and that is where Va Tech has the advantage.  Ryan looked like a Heisman candidate early on, but lately he has been making quite a few stupid passes.  The Va Tech defense will dominate this game and force a few turnovers in this one.  Really liking Va Tech -4.5 and UNDER 46 in this one.

originally from boston, live in vegas now and i've NEVER been on the right side of a bc bet in my life.  that's no joke, NEVER!  I F'ING HATE bc because of that.  so i'm biased against them.  i had vtech in the first game earlier this year and was wishing i had a dog so i could kick it by the end, not really, i like dogs and all but i almost threw up in my mouth with the way i lost that f'ing game.  i'm not going to bet this game i promise, i want them to be exposed, because they are the biggest fraud team to ever be ranked as high as #2 ever.  but with the bulletin board material from bc's coach, the revenge factor already working in the favor of vtech and the way their offense has been rolling has me thinking a 31-17 vtech victory.  i'll be up early pulling for vtech and counting my benji's thanks to another celtics friday night cover.  F BC.  but seriously, i'm like eddie mush when it comes to bc so i'm not going to bet it at all for the sake of the vtech backers on this thread, i promise.

a side note on the celtics friday night cover mention, i used to book with an old guy back in boston and he claimed that going back to the 70's that the celtics on friday night covered over 75% of the time and over 90% when they were getting points at home on friday nights.  it's unlikely you'll see them getting points at home on a friday night this year but so far so good with the results on friday night.  i hadn't been betting it the last couple years because i have an intimate relationship with my money and the celtics were unbetable, but that celtic pride is back, so i'm riding it again.
