yes idiot - that same solid d that gave up 35 against stanford and scored how man points against stanford.  that's right 0.

texas is at home against a football team with some tradition.  in addition, texas lost to ucla during the cade mcnown years in a home and away series and were outscored 110 to 20.  those coaches remember those losses. 

ucla look like a nc team against houston last week.  yes, they ended the seasons of the starting and backup qbs.  this week they play texas.  the only team better in the pac 10 right now than texas, i believe is oregon. 

in addition, texas strong dislikes coach Richard Gerald "Rick" Neuheisel, Jr.  if this happens to get out of hand, there will be no mercy.

but, with that being said, texas has some O Line issues and our chronic achilles heal, Offensive coordinator Greg Davis. 

Our D will be fine and will harrass prince all game...

Gilbert is iffy and locks on targets?  He's completing 60% of passes in an offense much more balanced with the run than what people have seen from Texas recently.  60% isn't wonderful, but it's still very good.  Where is the real proof he locks on targets and is turnover prone?  He's thrown 3 INT's all year and not a single one was on him.  2 tip balls at the line of scrimmage and the other bounced off the hands of the open receiver he targeted.  In 3 games he hasn't committed one turnever from locking on targets.  You can't even say there were many breakups due to this either.  WR's have been dropping balls or he missed target on occasion. It's only a real problem if it causes alot of incompletions or some INT's.

As for UCLA, they live and die by the run.  And only once they lived...along with two ugly deaths coming before last week.  And Texas leads the nation in rushing defense.  The Bruins have trouble stopping the run (200+ avg / game).  If they let Texas run well and give balance they will not shut down the pass, trust me.

The line is high but playable.  Anything under 14 I'd be all over.  As is it's a medium play for Texas.  Anyone betting UCLA is going off their last game against a terrible Houston defense and major injuries.  Remember the games before that.  Bad losses to Kansas St. and Stanford...neither is at Texas' level.  If Texas shut down Tech's highly potent offense, there is no way UCLA gets going in Austin.  Texas fans have not forgotten 66-3...our worst loss ever.  Most can remember vivid details of that awful day.

texas has to get the kinks on O worked out before the OU game.   I believe you will see a more open offense than you have seen the last 3 weeks from my Horns (at least i hope so).  I think the D at home against a high profile school with a lot of football traditional is going to be NASTY...
