After watching both teams play this year, it's really hard to go against Pitt in this one.  Thus, I'm not.  You have to lean Pitt here especially looking at the line movement.  Every sign points to Pitt, bad weather, or not.        Pittsburgh   -5.5

I think it is a good call, though I am not playing it.

If you want a good Under play, look at Penn St -Minnesota tomorrow, under 47.5.   Been snowing at State College since yesterday and the field will be a mess.  Plus the PSU D is very strong.   See my writeup in that thread for details.  Good luck....

After overviewing both teams, Pittsburgh have the advantage with the experienced team and a senior QB. However, Rutgers Run defense is just sick. I am expecting the coaches to come out firing with a bunch of runs to slow down each others defenses. The line shift down to 45 - 46 due to a high chance of rain.

One thing to look out in this game is pittsburgh spread offense. Stull can drive to ball to each receiver so doubling up their main receiver will not be helpful. I am expecting a lot of mistakes and TO. This game will be a field goal game.

My predictions: 23 - 19 Pittsburgh

Take the Under 46!

people keep talking about rutgers defensive stats, but they're not comparing them to the teams they have played.  i dont think they're going to get totally blown out at home, but pitt winning by 10 points is very realistic.

I am a Rutgers Season Ticket Holder.. Idk if im going to the game yet.. I will keep everyone updated on the weather..
 
Yes Rutgers did get beaten up by Cincy.. Understand that was their first game of the season and they were not ready at all.. Remember in College Football there are no scirmages or Pre-Season games.. And they had about 4 QBs that they did not know who would start or not.. The job wisely went to the best QB on their team the Highly Touted True Freshman Tom Savage.. He is obviously the starter because he is good and better then everyone one else on the team even upper classmen that been their awile.. Rutgers has some good talent on both sides of the ball, very good recuriting classes coming in as well..
 
Bottom Line is Greg Schaino knows how to coach, knows how to out couch Stach and the Pitt Panthers.. Under the spot lighst I have seen them beat talented high ranking teams like SFL and WV in the past.. getiting six at home is a lot.. They can win this game outright but def keep it under that number..
 
Home Dog.. National TV.. Players step-up to a different Level.. and Schiano is the difference.. he is a Defensive Style Coach!!.. They need this game to get their name back out there..

Ok, after looking more into this game I am gonna stay away from a side and stick with the Under, weather forecast at rutgers tonight = Rain showers early becoming more intermittent overnight. Low near 40F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%. ......this makes me like the under even more than I did before, if I had to choose a side I would probably take Pitt, UNDER for me tonight, GL to all

Haven't posted much at all over the years ...but have followed along lots and like coming here to get different views and local perspectives on the games to help me make my decisions.
 
I don't really have a feel on this game to advise people either way on this one...just want to point out something about all this weather talk.  I live in CT about 75 miles away, so not as close as some others who have posted, but  I get the sense this weather forecast is not as bad as some of you are thinking it is .  Yes it is much too cold,  windy and raw for this area for the middle of october, and no I would not want to be sitting outside watching this game tonight let alone playing football in it...but this is nothing like the Nebraska/Mizzou or Ark St/UL monroe type of game altering pounding rain we've seen recently.  My best advice, tune into the pre-game of the yankee game...the 2 stadiums aren't that far apart, see what the actual weather is for yourself , and make your own decision how much it's going to influence the play of these teams.

Thanks for the weather info guys, like i said in my previous posts I like the under tonight and am not sure about a side, i think it will either be a close game or it could be pitt by 10+pts, hopefully there will be a lot of running to keep the clock ticking and that will also help the Under hold......bad weather + lots of running the ball = unders.....locked in on the under 45.5

I am 30  miles north of Rutgers.. Its like light right.. nothing heavy at all.. it will be damp and cold maybe light rain.. the heavy stuff is coming in tomorrow..

Rutgers +7 one unit.  I don't think Thursday & Friday night underdogs will both NOT cover.  Took CINCI last night, lean on the home team tonight.

Wet enough for a slippery football tonight.....And a true freshman QB in Savage.....Anybody remember last night how the freshman Daniels performed?.....Lots of skills....lots of tools....but a bit of a deer in the headlights....
