I decided to bet on Pitt in the first half again, they have done very well on first half lines, with exception to their last game. I like them to be up by a least a FG in this rain fest by half time. They will play stache ball, play defense, and run run run.

If I play this game it will be on the home dog.  Like it better at 5.5, hoping for 6, but wondering about the big line movement.  Schiano has beaten Pitt 4 times in a row.  He knows Wannstedt well since he was on his coaching staff with the Bears in the 90s.

Rutgers has a freshman QB in Tom Savage which gives me a little concern but he has yet to throw a pick.   The key is protection for him vs a blitzing Pitt defense.

Rutgers should be the best run D the Panthers have faced all year.  Should be a tough game, probly go under in the rain tho I am not playing the total.

I was going to take Pitt when the line was only 3.  Now that it is 5.5 or 6 I will take the home dog.  Thats too many points for the Stache...  He might win but it would be by a close margin.

I'm hoping to get 6 from my local.

GO RUTGERS!!!!  +5.5

Rutgers O line avg. 6-foot-6, 300 pounds outweighs Pitt D line by 27 pounds. Pitt's O line avg 6-4, 293 outweighs Rutgers D-line by 28 pounds. Pitt ran for 221 yds vs Conn. Pitt's strength is Run... Rutger's is Run D.
Pitt Power ranking  is #34, Rutgers is #28.
Rutgers at home on a wet field (mitigate Pitt speed) getting 5.5 against the Stach with a short travel week. Pitt goes home for 3 games..SFL,Scuse, ND.
Liking Rutgers in this spot. I'm guessing the line comes down as game approaches and as whether/field worsen.

Taking PITT here. They have the much better team. Also don't trust a true freshman QB making his first conference start at home on national tv. Look what happened to BJ Daniels for South Florida last night. He made some very good plays, mostly with his feet, but also made some very costly mistakes that changed the momentum of that game.

I expect Pitt's strong and quick front seven to put pressure on Savage, who is only completing 55% of his passes, and force some turnovers. On the other side of the ball I love the weapons Pitt has. Dion Lewis is 5th in the nation in rushing right now getting 123 yards per game and Ray Graham has been a nice change of pace. I think they use those two to set up the play action and set up big plays to Dorin Dickerson and Jonathan Baldwin who is an absolute stud. The guy is 6'6'' 230 lbs and runs a 4.4 40. Bill Stull has been excellent this year (13 td's - 3 int's) and is currently 4th in the nation in passing efficiency.

I lost that USF last night too.  The game looked like USF could have won.  Big drop pass, #10 on USF killed us all night.  I have lost more money on college than pro.  They are kids and young and make stupid plays and stupid mistakes.  The coaches are not as good or they would be in the NFL.  I might stay away from this one too and try not to bet too much on saturday and wait for sunday.  Patience is a virtue.  You seem to be able to stay away from games more than me.

Really like Pitt tonite. Where im at all i get on Tv is Big East games, so im very familiar with this conference. I had Cinci last night and they got it done for me. Ima let some of the winnings from that go on this game. This def isnt the type of game to pound in my opinion. But i really like the way this Pitt team is playing, and it seems Stull finally is getting it. Rutgers does have a bunch of beasts on there O- line, therefore this will be a tough game for the Pitt D-Line, but i think they can get the job done. This is definetly a deifferent Pitt team than years past. theres just something about them

I bet against the freshman QB last night and it worked out.  But notice he did not get much help from his receivers last night, who were dropping passes all over the place.  Also the rookie QB from Cinci who had to come in as a backup did just fine.

I am taking my chances with the RUT QB tonight at home, especially since the line has moved to 6 pts.  I'm not sure there is a big talent advantage here -- neither team has really played anyone great yet.  The Big East is weak -- even after that big win last night I don't expect Cinci to be able to win a BCS game against anyone.

I wanted to layoff both games and carry over my Tues winnings into Saturday but I let the degenerate in me get the best of me. I went off my discipline early in the season and promised myself not to do it again but I did.....now I'm 1-2 for the week

Good luck

I really like Rutgers +6..  Schiano is the better coach but with getting an extra week to prepare gives him an even bigger edge.  Rutgers - ranked 7th rush Defense will slow down the Freshman RB Dion Lewis.  Looking for a close game, Pitt might pull it out but will not cover 6 pts.

Pitt 23 - Rutgers 20.  Also like the UNDER if raining before kickoff..  Will wait until the last minute to make that play..  Good Luck All.

Ended up hitting Cincy last night putting my week at 4-0 so far, I do like the Under in this game considering the weather, as for a side if I had to pick a team it would be Pitt, I think Pitt is the better team on both sides of the ball and plays a much tougher schedule, Pitt 24 Rutgers 17

The QB from Cincy that came in wasn't a rookie/freshman. He was a 3rd year sophomore. He's been in the program and new the offense. This Savage kid is a true freshman making his first start on primetime in the rain. I think he'll be a little nervous.

There was a lot of drops last night but some of those came after BJ Daniels was able to extend plays with his legs. Savage doesn't move like that. If Pitt can get to him he will go down. And it's not like Savage is a gun-slinger either. He's only completing 56% of his passes and the most yards he's thrown for is 223 against Howard.

Good points Stalker.  I'd agree with you on those.  I don't think it's necessarily an easy call on how the QB play will go, and agree a lot comes down to the Pitt pass rush.  The thing is, as good as their pass rush has been sack-wise, the pass D has not been that great.

I do think that BJ Daniels has a bright future -- that kid can make plays, though he also showed he can make mistakes as well.

In the end my play is more based on the coaching aspect than the QB play.  Schiano already has an edge, and with an extra week it is all the more so.  Good luck on your plays this weekend.

BigDaddy, good luck on that Under my friend.
I think it is a good call, though I am not playing it.

If you want a good Under play, look at Penn St -Minnesota tomorrow, under 47.5.   Been snowing at State College since yesterday and the field will be a mess.  Plus the PSU D is very strong.   See my writeup in that thread for details.  Good luck....
