back up that statement and throw your money against Kansas in a bowl game... that team is no joke! we don't know who they are playing yet, but there are only a handful of teams that would beat them... calling them a joke is a joke...
Fair point...but if the BCS stays as it is today (which i doubt it will) Kansas will play if im not mistaken in theTostitos bowl..as mizzou will play in the national championship game. If that happens they will most likley play the likes of a Georgia, Florida, LSU, Va tech, or even Tenn.. depending how the conf. championships games go. I would gladly take anyone of those teams over Kansas. And since the public..like those of you in this room has so much respect for them..I would not be surprised for a very low line.

Can you say smash mouth? OU pounds Missouri in this game between the tackles. Missouri is drinking the koolaid from their win over a tough Kansas team that should have beaten them. Meanwhile Oklahoma comes into this game with the lowest spread when favored since a -11.5 spread in 1999.
Missouri was favored in 06 by 1 point. The final score was 26-10 in favor of Oklahoma.
Heisman trophy my ass. Daniels will fall out of contention with a bad game, handing the trophy over to Pat White after this game.
I still can't believe that this spread is only -3 for Oklahoma.
OU wins, and sets up a National Title game between Ohio State and West Virginia, whereupon the Mountaineers will run rough shod through the Buckeyes and claim their National Championship.

I could not agree more cocknocker. I was all over Mizzou against CU, K-state and even, Kansas, but OU will prevail. They can handle the spread offense by Mizzou.

I'm thinking Mizzou may come out a little flat this game. After all, last week was an emotionally charged game that went to the wire, while OU coasted to an easy victory. In a sense, Mizzou is playing in their second championship game in as many weeks.

Here are the key things about OU. They've been great at home but have struggled away from Norman: Texas in Dallas, IA St in Ames, T Tech in Lubbock, CU in boulder. But, Bob Stoops is one of the best in big-time games. I think this game is a tough call and I probably won't play it.

This scenario is possible, but Tim Tebow is going to win the Heisman.

I like Mizzou getting the points, but I can see this game going either way. OU is favored for a reason. This game has me all fucked up. I need more time on this one.

Danstyk, the media always says that the Heisman should go to the best player on the best team. Pat White's team is ranked higher than Tebow's last time I checked. And it is very possible that the Mountaineers will play for the National Championship.
Tebow is a soph, right? If West Virginia covers the spread against Pitt, which I think they won't, then Pat should get it based upon his won/lost record, homes.
But fuck it, what do I know, I'm just a degenerate wagerer. I don't have a vote, and neither does your ass. This is our stage, cuzz. Our votes don't count. Oklahoma wins by 10, though, Don't forget that. Missouri players on stretchers by the half.
4 yards and a cloud of dust!

CN, first of all, I really could give a mountaineer's ass who wins the Heisman. And it is no diss on Pat White. I just think Tebow is a slam dunk this year. As for your line about "the Heisman should go to the best player on the best team" that is not written anywhere. This is a completely subjective free-for-all publicity contest voted on by many people who really don't get to see all of these players play a whole lot. Also, Tebow's team did pretty well last year from what I recall, so there is a bit of a hangover effect there, where players get rewarded the following year for the job they did the previous year. Happens all the time.
The reason I say Tebow will get it was said best by Terry Bowden in his Yahoo column:

Tebow has to win Heisman
For the third time this year, I covered a Florida game for Westwood One
Radio. This one was a little painful as I watched them crush Florida
State and my old man 45-12.
What I did get to see – again – is one of the most phenomenal
years by a college quarterback in the history of the game. Tim Tebow is
not just the best choice for the Heisman Trophy, he is the only choice.
No football player has ever done what he has this year. He has thrown
for more touchdowns than Matt Leinart and run for more touchdowns than
Ron Dayne.

Back to this game... on paper it seems like OK is the pick, but I have a feeling that MO has some 'Mentum on their side. Still looking at this one.

Why do people think Stoops is a big game coach? He chokes in big games. He got BLOWN OUT against LSU and USC in championship games and even lost last year against little ol' Boise State with Adrian Peterson on his team. Stoops is a good coach, but his team chokes on big games. Mizzou wins this one outright.

I watched Chase Daniels win a state championship down here in Texas. He is a winner and field general. OU is going down like a fat kid in the deep end.
