This is too straight forward.  If you watched the Kansas Mizzu game, kansas is a fraud with a glass jaw.

 

Vt has a lot to play for - "We are Virginia Tech" means something to these people.

 

I am in Orlando and the wind in Florida has died down.  It is cold, but that won't affect either of these two teams.

The more I look at this game I see Kansas being a lot like Illinios. Both had great seasons, Illini coming off a losing season (several) Kansas 6-6 in 06'.  I think Kansas, like the Illini have several very good players, a couple great players, but New to this level of competition, VaTech has more very good players that have been playing at a high level for a longer time and I believe they are a lot deeper, VaTech will keep bringing pressure all game long on Reesing, VaTech corners Flowers and Harris will be able to defend KU recievers long enough for d line to force Reesing into bad throws or Int's. (that's why I want to know if Reesing can run the ball enough to hurt VaTech and keep the presure off him).  I believe that VaTech will be able to pass the ball on KU, Remember Cody Hawkins threw for almost 300 yds, Chase Daniels 368, as a team Colorado gave up over 400 yds, and Missou got over 500 yds.  Kansas didn't beat a team that even got a VOTE for the top 25 let alone was in the top 25.

I won't say it can't happen because I saw WVU take 3 dimes out of my pocket, but I think KU has to play a flawless game and VaTech will have to play a little soft and turn it over not to cover.  I am not playing the o/u because too much can happen, so for what it's worth I am going to try and get my money back w/ VaTech.

If your asking yourself if this guy is a degenerate, the answer is yes.  But hopefully an educated one... GL to all!!!!

I've been going against the public more times then not this bowl season knowing the Vegas doesn't just give free money (Fresno, Oregon, WVU, Mich St, Miss St).  Got burned on BYU, that looked like a gift, then I learned my lesson.

 

This isn't the time to go against the public!  VaTech should roll barring mistakes/injuries.  Putting the line close makes people think that Kansas is better then they are.  They had a great season, yes.....can they hang w/ the big dogs, no in my opinion.  But what do I know, we'll see tonight.

On lack of respect despite accomplishments this season ...

We played all year with a chip on our shoulder. We’ll play this one that way too. The kind of talk that you’re bringing up is something that we’ve heard from the first game we played this year. We’re used to that kind of talk. We’re used to being considered underdogs, not good enough. We hear that all of the time. It’s something we are used to and we channel our energy in the right direction when we hear those kind of things.

 

 

Kansas hasn't played since the Mz loss.

 

VaTech handled Matty Ice for all but 2 minutes in 2 contests.   Reisling is no Ryan.  VaTech is fine......just hope they don't regret benching the RB for a quarter.

On being the underdogs all season and playing with a chip on their shoulder...

I feel like we’re a team that hasn’t gotten respect. We feel like we’ve had to earn everything we’ve had and this will be no different. We’re used to the situation and we’re used to the experience and I look forward to it.

 

On losing the final game of the season to Missouri...

It’s hard not for it to come up in your mind, because we had a lot of opportunities in front of us, and we could have won. But that’s something that you should-a, could-a, would-a, and at this point it’s really not worth it. We’re focusing on the opportunity that we have to get out on the field and kind of avenge that loss. That’s what we’re looking forward to.

 

On talk in the media that Kansas should not be in a BCS game ...

I’ve heard plenty ... it’s motivation, and it’s what we’re used to. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and there is nothing they can do about it now. There’s something we can do about it. We can play the game and show that we belong.

 

On the importance of the KU running game against the Virginia Tech defense ...

Playing a defense like them with the cornerbacks and the front seven that they have that can rush the passer, you have to be able to run the ball to keep them off of you. If me and Jake can do what we have been doing this season and be successful doing it. We can stay in this game and win this game.

Kansas vs. Virginia Tech -3 (5 units) - well after my last 5-unit loss (Rose Bowl) I said I'll have to rethink them from now on, well I've been there and done that with this pick.  The Hokies are primed to shutdown the Jayhawk offensive juggernaut, although it might be without one of their best LBs Vince Hall (who suffered a knee injury while jet skiing this week).  He is a gametime decision but also doubtful for the game depending on where you look, more than likely he will not start but at some point see limited action.  Although that will hurt their defense, they have enough talent elsewhere to keep a consistent top notch quality of play.  Beamer Ball should be in full effect tonight as well with special teams play, he always cooks up something crazy in times of need.  The one problem I see with this pick is the question of how many points will VT's offense put on the board?  Granted I'm sure they'll have a bunch of short field situations but when they need the crucial long drive can they do it?  An alarming stat for you junkies out there... since the BCS started a few years ago the ACC is only 1-8 in BCS bowl games.  This Kansas team has had a ton of time to think about what they lost in their last game against Missouri.  They lost a chance to play in the Big 12 Championship, and also the National Championship.  I'm sure they've ironed out the kinks and will be well prepared for the Orange Bowl tonight.  Todd Reesing leads the NCAA's highest scoring offense after that bust by Hawaii two nights ago dropped the Warriors down to #2.  Their spread offense is very tough to stop and Kansas has two NFL caliber WRs.  I'll stick with the Hokies though because you know what?... defense wins championships, although the Orange Bowl is no championship.  VT will be going for their 12th win tonight, which would be the first time in school history that they've won 12 games in a season.
