I know that it was the first game of the season, BUT I DO FEEL that Boise St struggled BIG TIME against against Oregon. Let me say this, Boise's defense PLAYED INCREDIBLE, holding Oregon to NO first downs until the 3rd qtr is UNBELIEVABLE!!! The offense struggled BIG TIME!!! Boise's offense had the ball for OVER 42 minutes & could only score 17 points (Defense had a safety). Boise kept on driving & getting into the redzone & 2 out of the 3 fumbles lost by Boise was VERY DEEP in the redzone. Boise should have won this game by 3 td's or more......These are the reasons why I say that Boise struggled against Oregon!!! In another post, someone said that I stated that Boise is overrated. I said no such thing about Boise being overrated!!! I said that Boise is a REAL GOOD team, but I think that they were better last year than this year. Nothing was said about them being overrated!!!!!!!!

While LA Tech is 3-0 @ home, their competition has been dubious. NM St is an absolute train wreck, and Hawaii came in after spending three straight weeks on the mainland after games @ Washington State and UNLV. Their other home win is against Nicholls State.
BSU has been tested on the road 3 times this year, @ Oregon, Fresno, & Tulsa. BSU dominated Oregon (protestations to the contrary notwithstanding), pulled away in the 4th from Fresno, and allowed Tulsa to hang around. Their other road games were against BAD teams, and BSU destroyed them.
BSU has been vulnerable to the big play on the road. Tulsa scored 2 of its 3 TD's on 50+ yard pass plays. Fresno had 3 TD runs of 60+ yards. Since Fresno, there have been no big play scoring runs, ditto big pass plays since Tulsa, so it could be argued that those issues have been addressed. Still, to be fair, they have played inferior teams, as well.
With the injuries to LA Tech, I would argue that these big plays are bullets Tech just does not have in its gun, at least not now. I don't see them consistently having multiple play drives resulting in td's points against BSU's defense.

I can't get the Boise/Tulsa game out of my mind.....Boise went into that contest knowing they would have to win impressively to maintain their at the time top 5 position in the polls.....
They didn't do that....didn't come close to winning impressively....And can anybody here argue that Tulsa is anything but mediocre?

boise smashed hawaii because we gave them 9 turnovers... being in the stands.. and watching.. boise did not impress me... its easy to score when you are already in the red zone.
I would take the 21.5 points as they are not on their blue field tonight... just my thought.

LA Tech gets ripped by teams that can run the ball. Nevada and Auburn by 23 and 24. Boise should be able to run and pass all day on them. Boise's D should be able to control the game. I see this as a blowout.

I hear ya. It's not the smurf turf tonight, but I feel we have yet to see the best of Boise State. Their stiff D caused those turnovers and Boise did have to execute to score. They are going to blow someone out soon even on the road. It could be tonight but I still can't give 21.5 pts though on the road.
