One question. Everyone's mentioning who ND would love to have, but do any big name coaches really want this job, with the exception of Meyer? He would have the only balls to tackle this job.
Kelly would take it because its a major step up. I cant imagine guys like Patterson or Fitzgerald thinking about taking over the mess left up there.
Whoever takes over will be left with NO talent. Not a chance in hell Clausen comes back, and most likely Tate. They have a shit offensive line, and nothign to get too excited over on the defense. Whoever takes this job wont be a factor for at least 3 years. This looks similar to Michigan when RR took over.
ND HAS TO GET MEYER. No ifs, ands or buts. Throw $6 mil per at him, and its a done deal. UF wont come close to matching that. They have to make a splash. This is the most important hire to the future of that program.

if Urban wins the NC

Compated to the last three they have had??? Ferentz would be a definite upgrade....LMAO. Slow Iowa. They have beaten Florida, LSU, and SC the last few bowl games...2003 37 - 17 over Florida, 30 - 25 over LSU 2004....31- 24 lost to Florida 2005 ONLY, because of a very bad off-sides call on the on-side kick-off late in the 4th, recovered by Chad Greenway. Iowa was on a roll and moving ball almost at will in the 2nd half, get the call right, Iowa has the ball near the 50 yd line with over 1 min left. Re-play confirmed this was the wrong call, but no re-do's back then. 2008 total domination of S. Carolina 31 - 10 So, slow Iowa has done very well against the "much faster" and "better conference" SEC teams. LMAO. You don't know what you are talking about. Wasn't that a much respected Arizona team Iowa beat earlier in the year??? Two for three in the last 6 years, could be 3/3 against Super Powers of the only real conference in the world, the SEC, ain't too bad, huh?
Bet ND would like to be 10 - 2, still after losing their starting QB, and 3rd leading rusher in the B10 2.5 games ago. How would Bama do without Ingram? How about Florida without Tebow? Not comparing them, I realize Ingram and Tebow are better (although Robinson is/was a very, very good running back) Oh yeah, and their 2nd best OL has been missing for three plus games too, Richardson. Not too shabby.

No One in their right mind would go there to Coach.
When Holtz was there the South had not risen to its full Potential. It has now ! and has the 2 Best Coaches at FL & ALA. All of the Speed is Down here. I moved down here 10 Years ago and watching High School football here is like watching 1-AA College up North.
These Boys are Big, Fast and Play Year around in the Heat.
Urban Myers was here Thrusday recruiting the #1 Middle Linebacker in High School. Kid is a Beast. But he is in the South and in the Saint Lucie County School District. Like the Kids from Miami, Ft. larderdale, Pahokee they cant even spell Notre Dame and have no chance of Going to that School.
A Charlie Weiss Coached Florida School would beat an Urban Myer coached ND.
ND is Academic Standards away from Competing. I dont care who Coaches and Recruits for them.

Oops, Missed your Post. You are right about Urban. And he is the Only one that could accept it. If you have Championships in the Bag and you fail at ND. You can go back south and COach. For Kelly, if he fails, he has to start all over again at a Small School. Urban could walk back into a Major Coaching Position.
Just Like Nick Saban. NC at LSU... Dabacle at Miami... Mega deal at Alabama
