Oregon? Really? The one bet I was waiting to hammer this week was Zona at +4 or better. I hate it when we are opposite.
Liking UVA, SDSU, and USU though
nobody should be worried about being opposite of me this season bro, I've been taking sucker bets with road chalk all year and losing you got me last week with UCF and I got you with Southern Miss, I think I'm gonna get you with this one though
the Ducks weren't ready to stop the physical nature of the Stanford offensive line and Gerhart, but Zona doesn't have a physical offense, I think Oregon can go toe to toe with them and beat them despite being on the road, the Pac-10 title is on the line and I have to go with the better team, Ducks for me
besides I need the Ducks to keep winning so I can get them matched up with Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, that would be the largest of money for this old washed up handicapper

I think it's possible that Stanford will be my only play of the weekend, at least the only one of substance. It will also be my largest play of the year.
Others kicking around my bourbon-addled brain include Oregon, UCLA, Ole Miss, Temple, UConn, Oregon State and dear ole USU.
I have to agree with Stanford, Stanford/Cal is a huge rivalry game and the schools really don't like each other, Stanford is just the much better team at this point during the season and Harbaugh will keep them motivated
I like your Ole Miss lean as well, but that team is killing me this year, I bet on them and they lose, I bet against them and they win

When I was out in Berkeley for the USC game, I was struck by how the Cal fans seemed almost as distressed with Stanfords's win that day (at home to UCLA) as they were with the Bears' dismal showing against the Men of Troy. I think part of that was hatred of Stanford, and part was a creeping suspicion that they weren't the best college program in the Bay area any more. As provintial as those people seem to be college-football wise, I think beating (and perhaps beating badly) the other side of the Big Game is more important than almost anything else.
Temple's in a crappy spot, but the number is about 3.5 light.
If you play Ole Miss, not only do you probably have the better team at home laying just a fg, but you're one good hit on Jefferson away from getting to play against Jarret Lee. Sneed will throw two picks. We'll see how critical they'll be.

Have you seen Cal's performances against decent competition this year?
And I do not count the win against Arizona as a good win. Arizona did everything they could to give Cal that game. Here is Cal's performance this year against good teams.
Oregon 42-3
USC 30-3
Oregon St. 31-14
Should have lost to a terrible Arizona St. team. Best win against Arizona who is regressing with their injuries. Now head on road to Stanford? 6 is a great number. Lay it.
Correction USC is NOT a good tem they r almost as overrated as Notre Dame!!! They r ok definitely NOT good!!!

Good points on the match-up being more favorable this time around for Oregon than their last road trip. I'm going to have to look at it more. I'm in no rush to bet it right now since 5.5 is a worthless #.
Again, BOL this week Hoo

Let's check Ohio State's recent ATS record as a dog:
OSU + 3.5 @ Penn St = OSU COVER $$
OSU +7 vs USC = OSU COVER $$
OSU +10.5 vs Texas = OSU COVER $$
Ohio State is $$ as dog. If they are +7.5 or more vs Oregon then pound them. If it's 7 or less then buy the points and pound them.
The media hatred/overrated stuff DOES influence lines because most people buy into the weak Big 10/slow midwestern players nonsense and wrongly fade OSU as a dog.
This team plays awesome defense, and recent history has shown that they are a great play as a dog.
D Exactly......that's what I'am talking about!!!

To echo Maine's thoughts. Jarrett Lee played against LaTech and looked like 2008 version 7/22 104 yards and INT. The problem with Lee is he does not look off defenders. IHe stays with his 1st read. If he is looking to throw left he never looks right and vice versa.
I am hoping they score with a recruit that can play QB. Shepard has been dynamic but I think he is more effective as a RB or WR.
Good luck Wahoo

I liked this game when I saw the line last night; I LOVE it today; and your perspective just fits......... Bumping it to a LARGE play as we speak

Laying off Stanford just can't force myself to bet with sooooo much public money...almost lean Cal +7 to be honest.
All over Air Force though, BYU kinda plays worse at home and Air Force D is solid, shutting down everyone this year, OT losses to Utah and Navy and by 3 to TCU. Air Force's methodical run offense should slow the game down and keep Hall off the field. Also its their last game of the year so let down after two blowouts is pretty unlikely imo. All things considered I'm not even sure BYU is a better team in general...
But I enjoy the thread and BOL on the games this week (except for BYU )

Wahoo, The OSU fans were pumped that they were going to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 13 seasons. Yes the season was shot when they lost to Purdue.
I used to live in Charlottesville for a few years, and I like UVA, if that team ever made it to say the Orange Bowl, which is bound to happen some day, the town would go nuts, right?
As for OSU not being able to compete w/ oregon, give me a break. (I don't think Oregon is going to win in Tuscon, so that would throw a monkey wrench into things.) This kind of thinking is why gamblers typically lose, and maybe it is why you are having an average year. they get into these pre-conceived notions that this team is great, this team sucks, blah blah. the fact is that OSU didn't catch any breaks vs Florida and LSU, but they took the best shots that Texas and USC had and covered those games easily. AS for the Iowa scout team, WTF? This is still a pretty damn good team, and the backup QB will be a pretty good one, and he wasn't much of a drop off from Stanzi...
As for betting one's roll vs OSU, maybe some missed their chances on that vs Flor and LSU, but there are some pretty broke dicks that were saying the same thing when they played Texas, USC, and even Penn st recently...

Texas Tech @ 7...I just played it. Got anything more on that one Hoo? From what I've read Sheffield is still hobbling around in some space-age size 16 orthopedic shoe

actually bought the hook to get Utah St. at 25, typo a moment ago trying to hurry, also added Penn St.
will probably add Uconn during the week, but want the line at 7 so I can buy the hook to over 7.5, they will probably beat Notre Dame, the Irish are packing it in and can't blow anyone out
drop UK since I suck in the SEC, add La Tech

I know a grad assist, waiting to hear from him, my feeling is Sheffield will not be playing though which will probably leave me off the game

Then why is this line only a TD or less? It doesn't really matter what they have done IMO, this is a situational spot where you can throw everything out the window.
I'm not much of a college guy but off two HUGE wins like Stanford just had this looks like a huge spot for Stanford to lay an egg and the odds makers are expecting it IMO with this cheap line.
I believe there are trap games...does Vegas know it? They sure do...do they come out on top on everyone? Not always - but more often then not.
NFL - Denver vs. Washington this weekend...
Oregon at Stanford (I fell for that one)
Houston at UCF (I got Vegas on that one)
Cal at Stanford (tbd...)
Let's walk through the public analysis on this one...(i'm the public too, so don't worry about me thinking I'm not)...Stanford beats USC by 30, USC beats Cal by 30...line is only 7...
Take it for what its worth but you either take the points or walk on this one...once in a blue moon the team is for real and you will get that cover, but like I said, more often then not you won't.
I've been extremely cold this month so maybe I should be tailing Stanford and not looking to play CAL.

Trditionally the dog covers in Stanford-Cal, and Cal should technically be a good play, but Stanford is on fire, they are really playing like a top 10 team right now.

I DO agree with Most of what was said about Tressels Conservative play, And not to mention also did anyone see that 4th and 1 against Iowa last week when Pryor looked at Tressel and then got waved off, Thats Tresselball at its finest. You got one of the best rushing QB's In the game, And hes so hungry to make the play, but with 4th and a Foot, You count on, Punt it and let "Your Defense to make a play". . I love Ohio St but give me a break. and as far as the If Oregon plays Oh St in the Rose bowl, I have to agree with Danestyles on that one. Ohio St is as the Dog.
