It wasn't cupcake, but it certainly wasn't as good as people thought it was going to be. Stanford and OU were their only legitimate wins. USC, Mich St and Mich were all down from what people thought pre season.
Now I agree, obviously the only thing u can do is play the schedule u have and to be considered for the best you have to win them all, but this schedule just wasn't as good as they thought it would be

Your right ND deserves to be in the title game but just because your ranked number 1 in America doesnt mean your the best team in the country. Was KState the best team in the country last week? Nope.
ND played nobody all yr outside of a solid win vs Oklahoma but even they arent that good as they lost to KSt at home too and barely beat WV who sucks and Ok State. Their other lone good win was a controversial call in OT vs Stanford with Stanford's backup QB. If Hogan played now they would lose.
ND played the easiest schedule I have ever seen for a title team. Its an embarassment this team isnt in a conference.
Everyone was blowing the Ducks on this forum and Kstate until they lost. Oh and ND beat the team that beat the Ducks. Also in the realm of reality Bama schedule way easier than NDs. 7 cupcakes in a row. 7. ND Played 10 bowl eligble teams and at the end of the regular season two top ten teams in Stanford and Oklahoma.

Let them play it on the field. Something needs to happen to make college football interesting. As it stands, we start each season wondering which SEC team will be the champion. Maybe that something is seeing ND play their game and throttle Alabama / georgia in front of a nat'l tv audience in primetime in a hyped up game. Let's hope it doesn't come down to a missed FG, because as it stands, that's how ND jumped Oregon. But ND did beat Stanford, and Ore didn't. Looked like a TD from Ore and not an incomplete, but couldn't overturn the ref's call. ND hits a 52 yrd FG before the half (longest of the kid's career) and that kick changed the playcalling, and was the reason ND won--besides Kiffin SPRINTING to get a timeout , and then everyone watches the receiver wide open for the TD, only to have it called back for Kiffin's yimeout. What a doosh. next play after his t/o and instructions?incomplete.

My only comment is that Notre Dame better get some offense, because watching them play Stanford, BYU, Pitt, and USC, it's apparent they aren't a great offensive team. Their defense is going to have to allow 10 pts or less in the ch game to have a shot.

Never bet on an ND game all year but people thought I lost money on the USC game . Bama is just so much more talented than them. You need such a special offense to beat this team like Tex A&M had but ND's offense sucked all year.
