ORE/ABU Total Discussion...

Question

I see a lot of sharps on the under.  I agree that 73.5 is a LOT of points.  However, I refused to bet Oregon unders since the UCLA game.  These guys and their hurry up offense makes me think that this game sails over.  I will be back with the trends, stats and angles I am looking at.

Oregon is 8 overs to 3 unders this year and Auburn is 7 over to 5 unders.  Not surprisingly both teams score more at home than on the road and both defenses give up more on the road than at home.  Oregon has not had a total this high this year with their highest being 72 vs. USC (game went over) and 70 vs. WASH ST (game went under but a teaser of any sort would have hit).  Auburn also has not had a total this high this year either with their highest being 65 vs. GEO (game went way over).  If Oregon or Auburn would have had a total set at 73.5 Oregon or Auburn would have went over the total (or damn close) 7 times each this season.

As I said before Oregon doesn&#x27;t know the word slow down.  I think that the will wear down this Auburn offense and we know that Cam will have a field day.  I am not necessarily saying that you should go crazy on this play since it is so high but it would take a lot of guts to play the under IMHO.  I will have more stuff to add to this later.  This is just my initial impression based on my notes.

Need 10&#x2B; TDs in this one......&#xD;&#xA;There has to be lots of things that go "right" to get OVER a total of 74.  Clearly both offenses are capable of putting up massive pts, but both teams do have decent defenses, and while these offenses will move the ball, I see the defenses making the offenses take more time to score than usual.  Lots of running in this one, picking up 3yds here, 8yds there, and the clock just ticking.&#xD;&#xA;On the flip side, both offenses pitch the ball around, and run those zone read offenses where QBs handle the ball and stick it into RBs, and pull it at the last minute, and that could create a few TOs.  Will the TOs create "short" fields, or will the TO, derail a couple drives deep in scoring territory.&#xD;&#xA;This game wouldnt surprise me if it was 49 - 41, or if it was 34 - 30.

good write up bud. thats exactly why ima have to stay away from the O/U thought about takin the under but i wanna be able to enjoy the game. i like to rout for big offensive plays n we know both these teams are capable of that but not confident enough to take the over so ill saty away n just take auburn

IF YOUR GOING TO BET THE UNDER I WOULD SUGGEST THE 1ST HALF UNDER AS BOTH TEAMS WILL BE RUSTY AND DEFENSES WILL BE RILED UP

This is the biggest game.  Oregon does lots of weired things regular games.   Like goes  for 2 after touchdown and 4th and 2 or 3 go at the 45Yd  in 1H. But they will play like NFL not like college football in this game..  I  think UNDER better.

So right here we have 13-1 saying its Under. Do you want to change your mind and agree with everyone in the room?

Not saying they are wrong or you are right, but i would actually like the fact that nobody was with me. When everyone is agreeing usually disaster strikes.

btw i am with you on the over.5 tds each =70 (and i would think this would be competitive) so 5 each seems very capable. Obviously someone will have to tack on a few more points to win. Thus it goes over.If this was Oregon and Washington state then i would say that maybe washington state can&#x27;t get 35 thus making that total harder to hit. But i think 5 tds each from these two is very probable. Its a massive total but its not impossible as long as both teams come to play and its a close game.

&#xD;&#xA;Honestly I think that the first half under could absolutely hit.  Oregon&#x27;s speed offense sometimes takes a while to wear their opponent down.  This hurry up offense will tire that speed SEC defense down and then their hit those holes and break big yards.  I think this starts to happen toward the middle of the 2nd quarter and after half time the middle of the 3Q going forward.  I could easily see 28 points being scored in the 4th Q.  BOL!

&#xD;&#xA;That is what I concluded too.  Read the rest of the posting.  I just think that under looks too easy and isn&#x27;t consistent with the stats and trends I have seen.  If I were to play the under it would be like WillNeverStop suggests the 1H under and then double it on the 2H over.  BOL!
