I'll give you Buckeye fans some credit; you really are loyal but way out of touch with reality. Let me break it down for you:
8/30 They will crush Youngstown State (Cupcake #1) 9/06 They will crush Ohio (Cupcake #2) 9/13 They will get annihilated by USC (bet on it) 9/20 They will crush Troy (Cupcake #3) *******Do you OSU fans think they should schedule a better caliber of teams?************************************ 9/27 They should handle Minnesota 10/04 They should handle Wisconsin 10/11 They should handle Purdue 10/18 MSU could give them their 1st Big Ten loss 10/25 They should take care of PSU 11/08 They should take care of Northwestern 11/15 OSU wanting payback for last year; could go either way 11/22 They should handle decimated rival Michigan
Let's say they go 11-1 or 12-2. Nothing to really be proud of with 3 absolute gimmee games and playing in a weak Big 10. So there is a possibility that OSU could play for another title or other BCS bowl. Now I know you all know how it will end for the Buckeyes. If they play an SEC team for the championship they shouldn't even lace up their shoes; conceding the game before the bloodbath begins would be most desirable. When OSU plays for any bowl they better hope that team doesn't have great team speed because they can't hang.
In the BIG 10 they are a big fish in a little pond. In the top 25 they are a little fish in the ocean. Good luck though Buckeye fans. You're gonna need it.

Big john, you should love USC -4 then, you seem to know something that Vegas doesn't. USC is actually priced below what their solid home field would warrant; they would be about a 5 or 6 point fave over an equal team, so who is the better team here? As for the Big 11 being weak, let's get original here. Why are they weak? They actually had 10 bowl eligible teams last year, and along with the SEC they were one of the deepest conferences. They held their own in the bowls, and most Big 11 teams were in the top 25 last year at some pont, and they mostly have strong home fields. So some of you idiot dorks that think you have all of the answers, load up against the Buckeyes, you may just run into a buzzsaw.

G-Father- Who pissed in your cornflakes bro? These are my opinions just like you have yours. For me OSU is over-rated. They play weak competition, come up against a solid well-rounded out of conference opponent and then lose. You can't argue that. I grew up in Michigan; I know the BIG 10. It's not what it used to be in the 80's & 90's. Great recruits are going to warmer climate schools out west and down south and depleting the talent pool for the BIG 10. Outside of OSU's paper champion status of the BIG 10 no school has been feared or dominant across the country. Sure the Buckeyes are well coached but if they were in the SEC they'd be middle of the pack. And yes I have NO DOUBT that USC will manhandle OSU. I will be putting my money where my mouth is. 1000 bones. Can't wait for that game! Mark my words. G-father- on September 13th, when I'm right, and USC handles OSU, will you create a thread saying I was right?

First of all, let's hope so. Where do you see the mismatches for both teams? Many say that Sanchez is weak, but I don't think he is Boeckaman bad, you? Sanchez damn near brought USC back at Oregon. If he plays like that all year, they will be tough. Does OSU* just have the advantage at RB? Although, their defense won't be able to catch the USC runners.

Guys, why is the Big 10 weak? All anyone can say is that Michigan lost to App St, who was a damn good team by the way, and they could hang with a good % of Div 1 teams. Big 10 has several tough teams and top 10 ranked teams every year, OSU of course, Wiscy, Penn st, and other teams like Mich st , Purdue, Iowa are always competitive. One year Big 10 was poor n the bowls but most years they have had their share of bowl wins.

uhm cuz minnehaha has as loss to another non player. That feeds the flames. The Big 10+1 plays mostly an outdated brand of football. They have the same calliber of athletes but when they are faced with similar athletes with a better scheme they melt.
But you gotta love tressel. He's 1 of the best coaches in the country. Prolly top 5. THe USC game is gonna be great. The line seems low. So you gotta like OSUs chances straight up.
GL this year OSU fans. ALthough I dont think you will need it to make it to the BCS MNC.

How can Tressell be such a good coach if what you said above is true? When they are facing similar talent, they get blown away 79-38?? That is coaching!!! It is not as if LSU was some great team. They lost to Arkansas at home. OSU* gets a 10-point lead and just gets hammered and you call Tressell one of the best coaches?? He lost to Texas at home by playing Zwick over a guy that would win the Heisman a year later. He beat Texas that would lose three games that year and a bunch of crap teams. If not for Terry Porter, this guy is a laughing stock, he still is really. You can't be a great coach and get blown out 41-14 and then come back with that LSU performance. Either he is average at best and can't make adjustments or that OSU* football team just absolutely blows. It has to be one of the two.

Kaplan, many of those teams that you list above were bowl teams, or in the case of N Dakota state, a top team in their division. And the Big 10 teams won all of the other OOC games. Look at the SEC, there are teams that lost OOC games.

adams from arizona . a defensive lineman. says ohio state is 1st on his list. anybody heard of him ?
He is an amazing prospect however I don't think there will be room for him. After already taking two DT in the last class and having a 5 star already on board this year (John Simon) Adams will miss out on this class unless he pulls the trigger very soon. OSU has only 3-4 more schollies that will be open and those are reserved for Glenville kids and a few other key players.

Very interesting considering what Ohio State has done in recruiting the past decade. Also Michigan has sent more players to the NFL than any other team in college football. This is based off the two losses that Ohio State had in the title game. Why don't we look at last year. OSU played LSU in New Orleans! Our Big 10 runner up played USC in California! Wisc, handled their business while our fourth ranked team played the SEC runner up Florida, in Florida and beat them, that was the Big 10's fourth best team. Then who does our 5th best team in Michigan State play, hmmmm, Boston College, ACC champ and a team that was ranked 2! Last year people did not look into the bowl games and the clear disadvantage the Big 10 was put in.

hmmm, why is he such a good coach lets see. 3 National Title games (1 Win) in 7 years. The win was against one of the "greatest" teams in college football history and he did it with a quarterback by the name of Craig Krenzel. He had 4 titles at Youngstown State where there is a playoff format. How bout 5 BCS games in 7 years as a head coach at Ohio State. How about a 6-1 record against your bitter rival in Michigan including a 42-39 win in the biggest game in the history of the series. He has compiled some of the best recruiting classes in the past 7 years in the country and landed the biggest qb prospect in the nation. He has developed players that have had no shot of going to the NFL specifically Craig Krenzel and Troy Smith. Smith was the last player offered a scholarship by the Bucks and as we know went on to win the Heisman. He beat Oklahoma State in a bowl game (Oklahoma State was coached by Les Miles at the time) without a quarterback. Troy Smith was suspended and Justin Zwick was hurt. Ginn was usually lined up at qb and they won that game 33-7 without a qb.

Q.Name all the teams that OSU* has beaten that have FINISHED in the top 10 at the end of the season since the Miami "victory."
A. Michigan 2006- OSU* scraped by them because of a dumb play by the Michigan LB. USC hammered them. The win that rocketed this juggernaut to prominence???? Notre Dame. In other words, even this team sucked.
Tressell* hasn't beaten anyone and he gets killed when matched evenly. This is why OSU* has won 1 title* in the last 40 years, they think this is great.
p.s.- 2004 Oklahoma State?? LMAO Record in their last 7 games?? 2-5 including 16 point losses to Texas A&M at home and at Texas Tech.
p.p.s.- Developed Troy Smith?? He did everything he could to keep him out of the lineup!!! Tressell* sent Zwick out for the last drive against Texas costing OSU* another shot at getting their ass kicked in a title game.
p.p.p.s.- 2007 OSU* says everything about the system and nothing about Tressell*. They didn't beat anybody with a pulse, lost to Illinois at home. Exposed in N.O. 2006 OSU* didn't beat anybody besides a Michigan team that didn't beat anybody. Exposed in Glendale. He "beat" Larry Coker, a case of dumb beating dumber with some help from 1 dumbest official.

So we are going to scrap a game because the team lost in a bowl game after waiting 40 days to play. We are going to scrap a game where #1 played #2 in the last game of the season in the biggest rivalry in sports. This statement alone shows you have no grasp on what college football is about. I am sorry that teams might not hold up but when the game is played there is a different feeling depending on where the team is currently ranked. How do we take into account the LSU loss to Kentucky? USC to Stan? OSU had its only loss to a team that played in the Rose Bowl.
Another case of someone complaining about one call in a 60 minute game. And what we should do is not call personal fouls in football when the game is close to the end. Does taking stupid penalties not reflect on the coach?
Tressell* hasn't beaten anyone and he gets killed when matched evenly. This is why OSU* has won 1 title* in the last 40 years, they think this is great.
You are a joke. He has gone to 5 BCS games in 7 years and is 6-1 against Michigan.

Did you not read the thread? It is an entirely different game when you play without a quarterback don't you think Cane? Oh wait I guess Les Miles just doesn't know how to beat a team without a qb considering Arkansas basically beat them at home at the end of the season using Mcfadden.
p.p.s.- Developed Troy Smith?? He did everything he could to keep him out of the lineup!!! Tressell* sent Zwick out for the last drive against Texas costing OSU* another shot at getting their ass kicked in a title game.
At 5'10 180 Lbs you're going to tell me he was pro potentital? Are you going to tell me that the last player offered a scholie would be winning the Heisman? Do you have any idea of how highly recruited Zwick was? I agree putting Zwick in at that spot was devastating.
p.p.p.s.- 2007 OSU* says everything about the system and nothing about Tressell*. They didn't beat anybody with a pulse, lost to Illinois at home. You are too funny. Last year was supposed to be a rebuilding year and the reason Ohio State got a shot at the title was because every other SEC team and every other power house team that you think was so good choked at the end as well. OSU was exposed by a senior heavy LSU team in New Orleans? LSU lost to Arkansas, WV lost to Pitt, Mizzou lost to Oklahoma, and the mighty USC lost to Stan. at home as a 41 point fave. Now you also want to down Coker and Ohio State for beating Miami. A miami team that was considered one of the best in college football history.
Canes your comments show that you are simply another Ohio State basher with no regard for facts. You give no credit for a big win but are the first to critisize for a tough loss. This is the worst type of analyst and your postings have shown me that I will spend no more time than what it took me to write this to talk about anything with you. You disregard wins at #2 Texas, you underplay a national title victory against Miami. You say they have beaten no one even though they are 17-5 since 2003 against the top 25.

A. Michigan 2006- OSU* scraped by them because of a dumb play by the Michigan LB. USC hammered them. The win that rocketed this juggernaut to prominence???? Notre Dame. In other words, even this team sucked.
He has gone to 5 BCS games in 7 years and is 6-1 against Michigan.
p.s.- 2004 Oklahoma State?? LMAO Record in their last 7 games?? 2-5 including 16 point losses to Texas A&M at home and at Texas Tech.
Exposed in N.O. 2006 OSU* didn't beat anybody besides a Michigan team that didn't beat anybody. Exposed in Glendale. He "beat" Larry Coker, a case of dumb beating dumber with some help from 1 dumbest official.
Oh, he also landed the #1 recruit in the nation 2 of the last 3 years in Beanie Well and Pryor. but I'm sure you will tell me Wells is not that good and recruiting is not important.
