NCCapper Tulsa vs UTEP Action

14-6-1 On the season after going 2-2-1 last week.  It looked like I was going 4-1, but Colt MCcoy decided to throw a pick with 3 minutes left on OKs 15 yard line instead of running the clock and kicking the field goal.  I don't want to talk about the FIU game and the final extra point..  that one hurt.

Up 10.4 Units on the season

Tonight:

I really, really wanted to find the reason that UTEP wins and then post it.  But there is absolutely no reason why they win this game.  The only two things they have going for them is #1 Home field and #2 a small advantage on O-line size. 

Tulsa has a better QB, better coach, better WR, better Defense, better Kicker, better special teams, they have played a tougher schedule and still have a better record.  I honestly cannot find any reason what so ever to take UTEP, although sometimes that doesn't work out.  I guess that's why they call it gambling.

Tulsa -7.5 2 units

Tell me about the FIU game, please. I was on them but just saw a box score and ended up with a push. Did they botch on XP?! If so, that will be the 3rd time this year it has happened to me.

I lost 3 games as follows last week:

Air Force by .5
FIU by 1 pt
Minnesota stuffed on 3rd and 4th and Goal from the 1 yard line.

Those were about a $500.00 dollar swing right there.

I didn't watch the game, but from the other posts I was told that FIU scored a passing touchdown which should have left two seconds on the clock.  Apparently, the referees just ran the remaining time off and after a very short protest the FIU coach just said the hell with it, shook hands and went to the locker room.  They didn't even attempt the extra point.

Crazy- I figure this one game is why the line is only 7.5.  However, I can't just dismiss the other 4 games they have played to rationalize a UTEP bet........plus, Houston's D is absolutely pathetic and Tulsa just held one of the best offenses in the nation under 30.  I always use the entire body of work to determine a side.

I respect your opinion though

The win over Houston was a fluke and lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place. If you're only relying on them getting lucky against houston to determine them beating every other team they play at home this season then you're going to be broke at the end of the day. Look at the overall numbers, not just one game. Hell, Oakland beat the Eagles this past Sunday, does that mean they're going to beat the Colts or the Saints when they play? Don't think so.

NCCapper, what do you think about the over/under? I'm pretty sure Tulsa will score a fair amount of points. but do you think UTEP will contribute much to the total?

I hope they contribute 0.    

I don't play totals, but I can't see UTEP lighting up the Tulsa D.  Their D hasn't allowed a rushing TD all year and I am unimpressed with UTEPS passing game.

It was brutal man.  Last weekend was the moose weekend of the year for me.  Luckily I got out with just paying a little juice.  I actually got a very small payment since I went 2-3 on NFL Sunday.

For the record, I ended up buying the hook.

So 2 units Tulsa -7 is the final wager.
