Hawai'i will most likely arrive a week in advance (when they played Alabama in 06, they arrived early, practiced at GaTech, then took the relatively short bus trip to Tuscaloosa), so jet lag will be no factor.
And humidity? After the many rainstorms on the islands, it's humid, so I don't think it will shock the Hawai'i players. As for the heat, it can get very oppressive (why else does Hawai'i seem to play night games at home)? So I don't think the weather will give Florida that much of an advantage.
I said it in the thread with the opening week lines that I think the Florida team over is the "safe" bet. Actually, maybe the first half team over. For the game it might be Florida O/U 45 and 23 at the half. Hawai'i will either put up 30+ or hardly anything, so +27 is too uncertain for me.
WRONG - Hawaii is scheduled to arrive the DAY before the game. They are flying commercial to Atlanta and then chartering down to Gainesville. UH tried to charter a plane directly to Gainesville, but the charter couldn't get the team there on Friday, Aug. 29. Do you think UH has a budget to have the football team spend a week in a hotel before a regular season game?
You cant compare the heat in Gainesville to that in Hawaii in August. Hawaii has the trade winds that cool down the island. There are so many people living in Hawaii that dont even bother getting air conditioning. You try living in Gainesville without AC in August!!!
