This thread could be 10 pages of MSU fans trying to convince eachother how great Sparty is, how NW isn't any good, and how there won't be any upset here, and it wouldn't matter...
Because NW will win, or at least cover, on Saturday

What everybody said about the Michigan game too.... don't think the game is going to play out that way. More I look at the game the more I like the under...for similar reasons I did the Michigan game.
Both teams want to control the ball... NU is a short passing team in general...they try to take small chunks and grind out drives...MSU loves smash mouth football...if they can run they will...and that means clock running.
NU cannot win a shootout... their offense isn't designed for that...neither is MSU 's for that matter. Both woudl rather have 15 play drives than two play drives. And the play calling normally reflects that.
Will want to see the weather but I think the under might be the better play

I think NU will move the ball....the question is will they turn the ball over or have to try field goals?
Keep in mind that 10 play drives that lead to field goals are huge for unders.
Normally I would be super concerned in this spot. I have a feeling that Danotnio planned this to be his 1st game back on the sidelines to try and counteract the letdown situation.
It appears that just about everyone on this board is on NU.... I think they are setting themselves for the trap as this isn't the same Spartan teams of the past. And isn't the same quality NU teams of the past.
NU in my opininon has beaten nobody and in the games I saw has done nothing to make me think they can win this game. Like you mention they have no run game. Hard to win games with Persa throwing 40+ times.
But its why they play the games.... I know NU can win the games if the MSU turns the ball over or commits stupid penalties...and they have a long history of both

Forecast is still calling for rain on Saturday...up to 70% chance in the reports I am seeing. Under is looking like a better possibility if this holds

As a fan, the only team that scares me now is Iows. I hope the players and coaches don't feel that way. MSU has a chance to be in a BCS bowl this year. One game at a time...
