Nobody can win every week capping the same team.

What is the point to talk about last week lost? A lost is a lost. Time to move on and pick the next winner.

I am looking to fade ECU next week. I am not fading Lu - remember that. I am fading ECU lousy 2H performance.

Perhaps one of the most overlooked components of this ECU performance against VT...

ECU has the ball 1st and 10 from the 13 yardline, going in for the score.  
Four consecutive penalties on the Pirates made it 1st and 40, pushing them well out 
where they needed a 15 yard run from Davis just go get into field goal range.  If they
got in there from the 13 rather than repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot...ECU covers.  
The Pirates have to get the penalties squared away before next Saturday.  It was uncharacteristic and
undoubtably had an effect on the outcome of that football game.

Well that formatting sucked.  Basically the teams were even in terms of stats.  The penalties were a big problem for ECU.  100 yards of penalties is not going to get it done, especially a string that cost you a touchdown.  When you consider a few pass interference calls that kept drives alive for VT and an offensive face mask call on ECU RB Jonathan Williams...it's apparent that those are fixable problems.  Hopefully this coaching staff gets it squared away before next weekend.

But Lu, thought you knew that Vegas knew that ECU would have 100 yards of penalties.  That's how they trapped us.  Just kidding bud, nice stuff and  I know your digging this stuff up capping the next game, not dwelling on the loss.  I wonder if all the guys who had great hindsight on this game figured they would implode with penalty yards and that's why they keep saying they knew Vegas was "trapping" us.  Keep up the good work bro.

You're all over it, 222bad.  I've really made it a point to learn from these things.  It's an opportunity to get better.  I hadn't seen that issue pop up before with this team, scrimmage or otherwise.  It was a surprise last Saturday, but I won't let it surprise me again.

Listening to Ruff tonight, he addressed some concerns that I mentioned in my initial post of this thread.  Blitz package pickup.  Who watched the VT LB's blaze through the gaps in the second half while ECU's RB's continuously whiffed on their assignment?  Ruff said tonight that they were in the right position (which they were...I was astonished as they continually let VT blow by them) but both had technique issues.  He said that both Jonathan Williams and Giavanni Ruffin were in the film room all Sunday night and are anxious to get it right.  They're working hard to correct it all week long.  

This is another major factor in the loss last Saturday and will be exposed big time if ECU can't get it shored up by the UNC-CH game.  I'll keep a close ear on this, no doubt.

Granted the 4th Quarter came back to bite us in the ass but I have faith you will guide us through the rest of the ECU season with another winning record . Keep up the good work my friend

I didn't see game but had score update constant on phone. Had ECU at 21.5. TALK bout killing me! You do the ECU watch LuDawg. We will watc,h and bet....and hopefully win.

i usually talk shit about everyone that looses a game they are extremely confident on and this was my biggest bet last weekend and was very exciting game in the 1st half but the 2nd was piss poor. I have to say LuDawg u r one of the only ones on this site that picks real winners. I will be with u next week.

tuff loss for sure,,I dont think any one here expected you to go 11-0 ATS,,well check that ,,I'm sure some of the prospects and rookies felt like you owed them an 11-0 record,, keep grindin Lu and for anyone who feels like  they got burned, well, heres a crazy idea for you guys--"cap your own games" back on track on 10-2 no doubt Lu ,,B Well buddy

Hey Lu everyone takes losses and weve all seen some unbelievble shit but man ...that one stung! nothing worse than a second half no show and just like you said no adjustments...none...last time I was that sick ...I watch jim tressel play a zone 10 yards off of chris leak for an ENTIRE game not just one half .....and watched about 60 dink and dunks...you think coaches at this level would see the obvious and adjust ....Ill take 2 outta 3 till my book is destitue keep shooting

exactly, and thats what these young kids do sometimes after everything goes bad as well in a football when they realize they cannot win, they take dumb risks and make it worse and everything goes from bad to worse when everything has gone wrong. Anyone thinking they were on the right side with VT in this game are literally dumb and did not watch a snap in the game, this cover was the epitome of a fluke. You are the best at capping ECU, don't pay any mind and expect anymore laughs to happen like they did in the 2nd half of that game my man. Anyone on ECU just got simply, unlucky.

Tough loss for your boys. I watched my Tigers fold against Auburn, so I feel your pain. I read your posts but bet ECU in this game due mainly as a fade of a seemingly heartless VT squad! Felt great in the first half. Then, wow! I can safely say that I have never had a come back gambling win like VT backers had.  It must be a crazy feeling to mentally pencil in the L before the half, only to storm back for the win and cover.  Crazy game.  GL on your picks this week!
