So they've only done it once out of the last 4 tries. They even lost straight up to the Pirates the year they won the ACC in 2007. If we extrapolate, that's about 2 times every 10 games they can beat ECU by 20.

i can't prove it because we will never no. it was a situatonal play if Virginia Tech was 2-0 going into that game they would not have been favored by 20 they would have been favored by less and ECU would have been the play. Tech won because of the spot they were in and oddsmakers knew that and inflated the line to get as much action on ECU as they could.

ECU gave up what 28 straight unanswered points in the end of 3rd and 4th quarter? ECU was up somethign like 27-21 in the 3rd....if it was not for shitty play by davis in the end ECU would have covered with ease...

if i were to follow your theory, how would u explain hawaii completely getting demolished by colorado in the 2nd half when hawaii was up 10-0 and had 2 chances to get 2 tds to be up 21-0? im pretty sure colorado had nothing going for them and is a extremely ASS team, while hawaii was a spunky team who could score a shitload with exciting players, albeit no defense at all
i dont think colorado was the better team as the line indicated (double digit favorite)
i prefer to think the ecu vs vt game and colorado vs hawaii game was more of a 'shit happens' game than a 'OMG Vegas knew it would happen'

It's probably fair to say that VT is a lot closer to the team we saw vs. Boise St. (2nd half) and not the team we saw vs. James Madison. These are young men and with so much put into the first game a let down had to be expected (maybe not the loss - it is JMU???). It's also a class hike for ECU to play against this conference and man for man VT is better in all areas. I think "we" the public sometimes get way to caught up in "what have you done for me lately" and not just the entire package. To me, it was just a case of VT under-achieving and maybe ECU over-achieving during the first 2 weeks of the season. For the record, I'm not a fan of any of these teams. Just a handicapper of the games.

Haven't handicapped it yet, but it looks like it'll be a competitive match-up.....
