considering their first 2 opponents, would it be out of line to say that they really haven't done anything yet?? 
 
just thinking they might be a bit overvalued.....

ohio state is on a whole different level than oregon state.

I think they're gonna have to prove me wrong this weekend.  IMO they're giving about 6-7 pts too many.

WHAT?  USC is the best team in football.  I hope this isn't another one of those "fade the public" plays.

I think the line is high.  The problem is that I dont want to put money on Oregon St either.

Funny, because at this point in the season you can actually make an argument against that.  They let Troy and Ohio hang with them for 3+ quarters AT HOME.

Besides, Oregon State almost always plays USC tough, especially when there in Corvalis

In Games played between USC and OSU @ OSU:
 
OSU is 3-1 ATS
OSU won 2 of those 4 games SU (as a 10pt and 6.5pt dog)
Largest USC victory--23pts back in '97 (in fact, the larget victory overall in this series by USC was 24 when they were at home in 03')
 
Just food for thought, I am leaning OSU but still wanna look over some stuff.  And no, this is not a "fade the public play", sometimes even the "best team in football" can win a game by less than 4 TD's.

I feel that Oh St will work their way back into the top 5; they will have a few games vs top 10 teams, Wisc, and Penn st, so everyone can see if they can live up to the previous hype. The Org st game will be a classic letdown spot for USC, and they basically played a perfect game vs Oh st. Give me 23 + points w/ o conf home dog on a Thurs nite - I'll take my chances.

Ohio State should lose to Penn State and Wisconsin, if they don't lose to them I'm going to be very upset

USC doesn't have to play a perfect game to beat Ohio St. .I have fade Ohio St 3 weeks in a row and it is money. Most Over Hype team out there. But Freightdog has a point, Oregon St always play USC tough. Good Info Freightdog

I watched the Oregon St. vs. Stanford game in full on TV and Oregon St. is absolutely awful!!

USC lost to Oregon State last time they played in Corvallis and thoretically, cost them a chance at the National Championship game two years ago.  They will be wanting to make a statement this first Pac-10 game to show that they aren't going to let these inferior Pac-9 teams beat em this year.  They've had also a week and a half to prepare for this one.  I don't see a let down and once again, this is the most complete USC team that Pete Carroll has ever had.

I'm putting my money on USC.  OSU's offense won't be able to put the ball in the end zone against em.  Being generous and giving them two field goals.

Why do people act like they've played terrible teams all year, but then everyone is so impressed with Penn St beating a bunch of shit teams? Penn St has beaten Coastal Carolina, Syracuse, Temple and Oregon St. It's sad to say, but Virginia might be better than all those teams, even though they are a bad, bad football team. Ohio St would beat them all by at least 20.

Ohio St is a top 10 team. That is a fact in my mind, not an opinion. They seem terrible to some on here because they had to play USC, which is the best football team by far. Georgia might give them a run if they play in the NC, but I'd be surprised if USC lost a game this year. From what I've seen of them they are one of the best teams from the past decade. That defense is just sick.

With all that said, I would guess they don't cover this year. 24 point is a hell of a lot to lay on the road inside the division. Oregon St isn't good, but they should keep it within 20. The sad part is a lot here will see that happen and make the statement Ore St must be better than Ohio St, when that's simple ridiculous. USC's intensity against OSU will not even come close to being matched against Oregon St.

Statement game here for SC.  while entire nation watches on Thurs. nite, they will prove why they are number one.  Remember when Va Tech crushed teams on Thurs. nite?  Signature game here for Sanchez and USC defense.  OSU has weapons, and 24 is a big number but I think Troy!!!!

ShadowWarrior, I totally agree. USC has been touted by a lot of analyists and reporters as being "penciled in" to the national championship game and I think that's ridiculous.  I'm a USC fan and after watching them blow it the last two years against inferior teams, I think that statement is bogus and extremely premature.
 
This is their first shot, on national TV, to put to rest those past years of futility and really make a statement against a sub-par Pac-10 team.  They've had longer than a week to scheme and work on this game and would like to make up for the last time they were in Corvallis and laid an egg. 
 
Once again, the defense doesn't give up more than 7 points and this offense will score at least 35 against a team that gave up 36 and 45 points to Stanford & Penn St. respectively. 
 
Take USC to the bank and watch them quiet those doubters...again.
