Jared Allen gets paid millions for years and makes 1 or 2 plays a game (game turning plays like Clowney did).  Sometimes he doesn't make a play for 3 games in a row.  NFL teams covet a guy that can make about 20-25 of those plays a year for a team.

Stats doesn't always show productivity ( look at Adam Dunn of Chicago Whitesox. Low .200's average but one of the most productive hitters last season) back to football though. You realize that Clowney bring out there cuts most Colleges offenses' in half right? Here's why, the Tackle and Gaurd have to Double team him now, or tackle and tight end have to. So TE can't go out on a drag route because he has to stay in and help contain Clowney. One less option taken away from the play. Running backs have to stay in completely or chip Clowney to prevent his bull rush. Take away most screens, and wheel routes just because Jadeveon Clowney is out there. Gaurds hardly pull to trap what ever side Clowney is on because they know it's pointless, hence I only recall seeing one trap play and it got blown up.
No offense to ya MTP, just trying to show you that Stars like Clowney don't always blow up that stat sheet, but their productivity is what sets them apart. BOL capping from here on out.

If you know anything about football and what it takes to play in the trenches, they double teamed him on maybe 1/2 of the plays he didn't get through. Gardner motioned the TE to move towards Clowney. Hokey dialed up a offense that's similar to the Patriots against tough defensive lines (NFL FYI). This limited him in getting into the backfield. If it was 1 on 1 most of the time, Clowney would dominate him off the line.
