Alabama +3 was a sucker bet. Vegas knew it, I just didn't!
Public was all over UGA in the SECCG
Public was all over Bama in the CFPCG
Public loves to be a sucker...

Dude I was begging anyone to trade their Bama +3 for my UGA -2.5 practically the entire game .. I was just doing it for charity and even told them their money was sucker money but nobody listened .. Obvi I rescinded my offer in the last 3 mins there .. can't just hand out the sharp money bets to the peasantry after vegas springs their trap on them and they all start clamoring the way they do ..
LOL c'mon pal you were lovin yer bama bet well into the 4th quarter up 5 10 mins to go .. even had a chance at the end down 8 before vegas intervened and called in the pick 6 ..

Bama was not a sucker bet...When Bama was up 18-13 with 10 minutes to go...the live line was Georgia +4.5...even linemakers did not think Georgia could score a TD or FG....

If Bama had had Jameson Williams in the game, for the whole game, that score is probably much much closer. How many balls did Young throw that were dropped that should have been caught??
I mean,
"if IFs and BUTs were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas"
Still tho.....

I actually thought Bama was the right side...but sometimes the right side does not win....Anyone who watched the game..and had Georgia like me..was scared AF for most of the game...Yes Georgia won but..the score was not indicative of how close the game was..Bama had TOP..1st downs..Yards...3rd down conversions.....

When I capped the game, it was either UGA or a no play for me. I ended up going small on UGA. I was pretty sure UGA didn't bring their best effort in the SEC Champ game. When you look at their 4 common opponents, UGA clearly dominated them much more than ALA. And the UGA D-line is more dominating than the ALA O-line. It's also a big hill to climb for 1 high level team to beat another high level team twice in a row, in the same season, a few weeks apart. The one big thing I had in favor of ALA was coaching - hard to bet against Saban in that spot, which is why I went small.

@davemsh
I was definitely nervous. I had Bama first half but bought Georgia second. Didn’t have a lot of confidence until the very end.
I know ppl are complaining that the game was boring but I thought it was very entertaining. And it was MUCH closer than the final score indicated.

Undoubtedly... but then if UGA had All-American Tykee Smith playing STAR how much better would the coverage had been? We can go down that hypothetical road forever with injuries and other decisions.

@GamblinDAWG
Right. But the difference is, Williams was in the game and left. Smith didn’t start, unless I’m mistaken?
Im not even saying Georgia would have lost or anything silly like that. I’m just saying, there was a noticeable difference when Williams left snd didn’t come back

@DestroyThePitch
For sure... and I think Williams is the best WR in the country. I just think it's one-sided to list Bama's injuries without also considering UGA's.
