Does anyone know when the first game will be.  I'm sick of watching NFL Prima-Donna's and am jonesin' for some college ball.

That's what it looks like so far. More games will probably be moved from Saturday to Thurs & Friday.

Two good games on Sept. 5   Georgia at Oklahoma State (both Top 15) and Alabama vs Virginia Tech (neutral site in Atlanta).  Decent game with Oklahoma and BYU.  Also a good Monday night game with FSU and Miami on September 7.  Seems like forever, but at least we get better openers this year than we have had.  Oklahoma State has everyone back and Georgia gets the players back who missed all of last year.  One early poll has OSU rated #7 with Georgia #12

The College Football season normally starts on the Thursday before Labor Day.  Labor Day is late this coming season, (Sept 7th) so just about everyone will start on the week before.  This first game I saw was Sept 3rd.

I'm looking forward to next season already. Maybe it's because I want to put the ugliness of 2008 behind me. I pretty much spent the whole season chasing losses.

Oh, man, if the UGA defense is as porous next year as it was this past season, that game against OSU can get brutal fast. Is Joe Cox number one on the depth chart at QB? Also, I'm just not that impressed with Caleb King. Will he step it up as Knoshown's replacement? Or was last year's inexperienced O-Line his biggest liability?

WOW!1 Looks like Spet 3 before we get to watch ANY games.  That's like 6 1/2 months..

Hmmmm, possible upsets:

LA Tech over Auburn
Baylor over Wake Forest (really, really like this one, but ML will probably only be +150)
NIU over Wisconsin
CMU over Arizona

Ugh! This is going to be a long offseason. In the past, if I was bored on a Saturday or Sunday, I might put money on basketball or baseball, but 1) I never seem to come out ahead with those sports, and 2) it's now a grind having to sit through those games, though I was a big fan years ago. Interests change.

I've vowed to place no sports bets until first week of CFB 2009, so at least I will not have squandered any bankroll $ before then.

You may want to note that Florida State will NOT be playing Maine on the 5th.  Instead, they will be playing Miami (FL) at  home on the 7th.

that said....starting with 1st game GA is huge go against team early ....check out their schedule (phil steele,com has all for next 3 yrs)
