Apparently you're too lazy to read too...I said OSU +8.5...in the post I emailed my friend I mentioned I was being sarcastic about the ML but what do you know. I guess I should expect a ton of Ohio State haters from my Title...well deserved. I posted enough about my reasoning and opinion. And I have posts in the game thread with other detailed information.
 
Most people here are looking at Bowl History and that fine...maybe you're right but that's why they play the game.

Yes FPronk the word in Vegas is that Texas won't show up ...... they will not like feeling the pain that Ohio hand out to them and we should see a low 20's scoreline e.g 24 -21 , 27 -21

something along those lines ..... but i can't be for sure about the moneyline play...... but the sharps have already spoken at +10.5 , 10 , +9.5 , +9 so I'm guessing i wont see many before gametime unless the line rises again ......which is unlikely because the Sharps are not pounding Texas anyway....so the line should hover around 8.5 / 9

From what I know (Not useless data on web pages, rather real numbers inside), the 'tracked' money from big players is on Texas. The line movement was initially moved down because the 10.5 number was to entice early Ohio St number. However, the books were surprised that it wasn't enough. They were a bit nervous to get it up above 11, especially to 13-14 for what the numbers really warranted. So, with all the followers of 'reverse line movement', the shrewd move was to set it down. This mentality was same used for the over, which is why that dropped 2 pts as well.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm not preaching, nor should you base your decision solely on that. But the folks that follow these line moves as their top priorty, are the ones who get hammered. Nothing will replace knowledge, so make that your decision maker. If you try to play mind games with oddsmaker you will ultimately get beat.

• The Big Ten has lost five straight BCS games.

• Tressel is 8-6 against Top 10 teams, but has lost four in a row.

• Mack Brown has won six of his last seven bowl games, including four in a row. He's unbeaten in BCS games.

I like Texas, but the only thing that scares me a little is Ohio st has only allowed 1 team to score over 21 and that was USC's 35. But you also hafta factor in how bad the Big 10 was this year and almost all of the Big 10's team are softer than shit on a hot summer day.

FPronk... Best of Luck my friend.  I'm leaning on Texas -8 and the Over tonight. 

There are many different angles one can take on the game, and depending on which one you believe, that's the way you'll go.  For me, Texas is the more talented team and in my opinion, the far better coach.  Jim Tressel can't seem to win the big games and we can no longer chalk up Michigan as a big game (not for the next 5 years anyway).  I just am not, and have never been a fan of the Big Ten.  But I am way impressed with Terrelle Pryor and he should be a Heisman finalist next season and OSU is a different team with a healthy Beanie Wells in the line-up.   But for me it comes down to coaches and what conference you coach in.  Mack Brown in the Big 12 vs. Jim Tressell in the Big Ten.  I have to lean on Texas by 10+ points with a lot of motivation and a complete dream of a split National Championship.  I am leaning on the over because Big 12 defenses are suspect right now with me and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Florida grad.  The fact that Ole Miss put up 49 on Texas Tech ... makes me think Ohio State will put up a lot of points, and I suspect Texas will do the same.

7 of baylors 21 points were scored mainly on 2 long PASSES
7 of baylors 21 points were scored on an INT return for a TD
and the final 7 were scored on a 40 yd run WITH 5 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME WITH TEXAS BEING UP 45-14... TEX GAVE UP.

Seriously other than Penn St. and Iowa the BIG 10 is on Par with the MAC....

O wait the MAC Toledo /Ball St and others beat Ltiile 11 teams ....

Funny thing is I did not post trends but I have some goodies for you too...

  • Longhorns are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.
  • Longhorns are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Bowl games as a favorite.
  • Longhorns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big Ten.
  • Longhorns are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 bowl games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.
  • Buckeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
  • Buckeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big 12.

    baylor avgs 195 yards rushing.. they are a rushing team. How many yards did they pass for total? 
     
    If you are going to bring the baylor game into play you should also bring the Ohio game into play vs state...
     
    Im a Big Ten fan but the conf has been run over so far in games.  I think that is why osu is getting heat... Unless they win this game the conf is going to have to suck up all the crap til next year...

    Well, you would be wrong wouldn't you...Baylor scored 2 rushing TD's so that did influence the score didn't it.

    This game isn't about what Conference won more bowl games. Its about Texas and Ohio State.

    Like I said, I knew I would get a lot of hate but that's fine. My point about Baylor is their not a great team and they ran all over this DEF. They had a 40 yard run for a TD and a 55 yard passing TD. Pretty good for a team who doesn't throw the ball alot. Especially on this UNDERRATED Texas D I've been hearing about.
