There is really two factors that this game comes down to. FSU's ability to pass rush and BYU adjusting to FSU's speed.
FSU has not shown the ability to pass rush. Max Hall with time and FSU's inexperience secondary is a disaster waiting to happen. I am an FSU fan so I see things through garnet and gold glasses, but I willing to bet we get a pressure on BYU. Our D Line is in a bad place right now. Poor DT recruiting has led us to convert our DE to DTs so we has and undersized middle and young undersized DEs. I dont see us getting much puss in the middle against BYU average 330 pounders, but I also dont think they will be able to slow our young ends. Our ends are small, but very fast. BYU size advantage may hurt them on the outside. One problem with this way of thinking, is that Max Hall gets the ball out so quick he rarely gets sacked so...
As for speed. BYU is not Wisconsin by any stretch. I give BYU's disaplined team a lot of credit, but I cant help but think how similar they are to Wisconsin in respect to personel. Big, strong but slow white guys. Speed kills and if you dont think our recievers are going to get separation you are wrong. Ponder has also shown the ability to step up in the pocket and deliver (see miami game). I think this is really going to show in the second half as they wear down.
This is will be a shoot out and FSU at +7.5 looks good. My heart says ML, but brain thinks +7.5 is a gift.
Also dont worry about that Jax St. Straight trap game that we narrowly escaped. That is not the team coming to Provo bank on it.

FSU has a great defense, BYU will fold and it wouldnt shock me if they lose by DDs in the game.
A great Defense?? Even Bobby knows his secondary his freakin awful. He admitted at half time last week and it turned out to be true. BYU wins and covers.

My original reaction to BYU -6.5 was that looked pretty good, but after thinking about it a little more, the points are now up to 7.5, I've locked in the 'Noles, I generally like to root against them, but I believe they are worth a small play this weekend, just going with my gut...

BYU beating a cream puff is considerably more impressive than FSU rallying to beat a cream puff (albeit a creampuff with Perilloux at QB).
Keep in mind BYU knocked Bradford out of the game....he wasn't missing from the start. In my mind there is a difference there.
OU's defense is very mediocre
In the end I honestly think the line is about where it should be. The Mountain West is proving to be a very capable league and can more than hold it's own with the BCS conferences. It's not like the spread should be lower in my opinion. I'm not going to be on this game on either side.
In my opinion I think a good case could be made for playing either team.

Are none of you BYU backers stopping to think about why this line is only -7 after FSU got beat by a marginally good Miami team and almost got embarrased at home against JSU, a division II team?? So you are letting Vegas tell you if this game is on a nuetral site, BYU is only a 4 point favorite?? WRONG!!!! Vegas knows people are going to look at this and say, well BYU beat Oklahoma at Oklahoma and beat the hell out of Tulane and lay the bet down based on that.... I would just take a step back and analyze why this line is where it is before I would lay a bet down on BYU....
