Last year ND, with Heisman hopeful Brady Quinn, traveled to GT as a touchdown favorite over the Rambling Wreck. In what was (IMO) a poorly played game by both teams on both sides of the ball saw ND edge out GT by a score of 14-10 and a failed cover for the Irish. For the most part the high-powered offenses could not move tha ball and the game turned into a defensive struggle.
The 2007 match-up changes venue as GT travels to South Bend seeking payback for a game they believe they should have won.
Georgia Tech- even with the loss of Calvin Johnson to the NFL, the Tech offense has the potential to more explosive than last year. Returning is QB Taylor Bennett who had a solid Gator Bowl performance last year. They stll have talent returning at the skilled positions on O with four linemen coming back and the ACC's leading rusher Tashard choice. From a defense that was pretty solid in 06 the Yellow Jackets have 8 returning starters back that should give the O a chance to put some points on the board and win games.
Notre Dame- Charlie Weis and crew are in a rebuilding year. After being taken to the woodshed by LSU last year and Quinn on the Browns the Fightin' Irish have some big holes to fill. On offense they will be operating with a new backfield and two new receivers. The O line has veterans coming back but they did a poor job of protecting Quinn from the sack last year. The defense needs to step up and play well if the Irish want to even be a 6-6 team this year. The front seven must play well and the secondary has to cover better or it will be a long season for ND.

The Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech will win STRAIGHT-UP over the golden domers and cover the 2.5 point spread.
Notre Dame has to many holes to fill at key positions. While playing at home will indeed give them a boost, Yellow Jackets prevail.
While I don't like predicting final scores, just for sh*t's & giggles I will here: GT 24 ND 17.
