agreed... people are forgetting a few things about VT...

1) they started the year red-shirting TT (their current QB), which led to them opening up flat...

2) after pulling him off the redshirt they had injuries to both QBs...

3) they played through a much tougher conf than Cincy did...

4) being in a BCS bowl is old hack for VT, but this is a circus affair for Cincy... VT will be all business while Cincy is enjoying the party...

 

looks like a lot of people are badly misreading this game...

i completely disagree with alabama having a let down. they have no reason too. i put this more into affect with texas getting robbed of the NC. alabama lost to florida, they had no arguement. these guys are gonna want to prove they are the real deal. as far as VT i don't think this will be close. i believe VT is way undervalued, and Cincy is way overvalued. They've slipped by a few when teams came out slow, i think vt will force a few TO's and win by 10 or so.

This is my first post and I have been following your plays (bibendi) very hard and have found you to be one of the best on here but there is no way I see vt beating Cincy. Cincy has a very fast and physical defense and IMO one of the best in the nation.  Cincy wont have to put up very many points to beat vt and pike with gilyard and goodman match up very well with vt's D

Good thread.  I think it was Bill Parcels who said "you are what you are," but it's something I try and keep in mind all the time.  It's rare that a team changes its stripes, and you can lose a fotune waiting for it to happen.

I have done the numbers on Utah / Bama. They are even in most every category. On paper this game looks like 28-27. I feel this game should be a pick. I feel this game will finish 6 or under either way
 
Brian johnson is better than JPW at QB
 
Utah is 3-0 vs top 30 teams
Bama is 3-1
 
Utah is 1-0 vs top 10 teams
Bama is 0-1
 
I think 10 points is great value
 
If you looked at stats not knowing which team is which you couldn't tell them apart

Wow...you people love to talk down about Cincinnati.  They really aren't that good are they...just 11-2....beat their rivals on the road, after beating WV at night on the road, after losing several quarterbacks.  They played Oklahoma fairly well until 3rd quarter, only down 28-20 until they let Oklahoma bust wide open on them.  They put up 378 all purpose yards against Oklahoma as well...

Over-rated?  Maybe...but you guys talk about VT like they walk on water...keep jumping on VT.  I would love Cincy in a pick...I'll take that to the bank all day long.

You all think the public is pounding UC because of their record...perhaps...but VT is a much better name in College Football and the ACC is a more well known football conference...bigger and better than the Big East, right?  Keep jumping on VT...please.

I never said anything about Cincy being overrated, just that VT has been undervalued of late.

lol.  i'm not talking about your posts...i know you love VT (your homer pick)...as much as I love UC (my homer pick).  But some of these people aren't sure what they are talking about.

You are right...VT has the edge with experience here.  But Cincy, 11-2, still doesn't believe they belong...no one else does, why should they.  Brian Kelly is going to stay...watch him bring these boys in fired up.  If they play ball, it will be a game.

I love Alabama, coming off a tough loss vs Florida they are gonna show how dominant the SEC is vs an overrated Utah team from the MWC. Bama wins this in a blowout just like Georgia beat Hawaii last year in the same bowl game. Also love Texas Tech playing in their home state and wanting to prove they deserved BCS consideration.
