i doubt there is going to be a college football season. one by one sht is gonna start to fall. how can you have one major conf playing 10 games and one 13 or 14. granted we only care about the top teams and 2 of the 3 non conf are cupcakes but ohio state was supposed to be at oregon. if this thing is just gonna be half azz with some conf completely out, some playing conf only just wait to the spring as much as that blows. this feels like a cluster fck. i doubt the ivy league will be the only league cancelled.

This affects the small conferences too. The million or so dollars a MAC team gets when they play at Michigan goes a long way in their atheltic budget. If the B10 played the cupcakes games, they'd lose a lot of money if they restricted live attendance, because TV doesn't care about them.

I agree, really hurts the MAC that already was struggling to keep athletics. Fully understand the not wanting to travel across country but MAC schools are right next door. For the good of ALL CFB, playing a few MAC games would be nice.
The real problem is, as I see it, is that the NCAA did not develop any uniform standards for the virus such as testing before games, game location area rate of infection, etc. They did nothing! So conferences can only trust themselves. Pitty.
Michigan could end up paying out 4mil in cancellation fees. Word is they are talking with Washington about rescheduling a future date. Both Ark St (1.8 mil) and Ball St ($925,000) have stated no one has contacted them yet.

yup good points. well there is one option for the mac if all the major conf go to a conf only schedule. notre dame. these poor bastrds are really in trouble. notre dame plays navy already postponed, wisconsin (cancelled), arkansas, wake forest, stanford, clemson , louisville, g tech and pitt. some or all of those could be cancelled then what do they do. i guess they could join the mac for this year or find teams that got screwed out of a game. wow. at this point s.o.s is out the window anyway. just about the $ at that point.
