If this team has a off night against CUSE I cant imagine how bad this team will get ran out of the gym.

You obviously do not know a god damn thing about Villanova Basketball.  

Nova CAN take the ball to the basket (Reynolds, Fisher, Wayns, Stokes, Cheek, Redding).  That said, when the 3's are falling, why not keep shooting them?  It's not as if they have no way of scoring if the 3's arent falling.

As for the Cuse, they look solid so far but they have been RAPED by Villanova in recent meetings.  

No one is running Villanova off the court.  Get a damn clue.  Just b/c UNC's horrid backcourt couldnt keep up with them, best believe Nova will.

There are no teams near the level of UNC of 2008-09.  Nova has as good a chance to win it all as anyone because of all the offensive options at their disposal.

NOVA is missing key components to make a title run and living by the J can only go so far. If you want to be realistic and talk title hoops I will gladly put you in your place what type of teams win titles...

mary lost yes but they shot well and didnt jack up a bunch of 3's..

they also outrebounded mary by a lot

A North Carolina fan in Indiana.  Go figure.  Who are your other favorite teams, the Lakers, Red Wings and Yankees?

If Villanova and UNC meet again in the NCAA Tournament, I will seek you out on here and make a straight wager with you.

Chances are, UNC will have been knocked out by then, however, due to mediocre guard play which will kill anytime in the Dance.

Maryland beat UNC last year.  What did that mean...nothing.  How many did Maryland score that night?

You were pointing out how many points Nova gave up to Maryland, in a 9pt win, as a negative indicator for things to come, while your Tar Heels gave up just as many to the same team last season, in a loss. Didnt seem to affect UNC any.

Do you watch Villanova games?  TYPICALLY, they play very good on-ball pressure defense, it's been their calling card for the last 4 yrs. This was one of those games that developed into a trackmeet early.  It happens.  As you can see, they are very capable of playing that type of game, as well playing Big East brawls in the 60's.

Villanova beat Duke by 100, and a very, very good Pitt team, on a nuetral court in Boston.  I have no time to debate with morons who think Nova wouldnt have beaten American or UCLA if those 2 games were outside PA.

This coming from a UNC "fan"  from Indiana, who's team is always within spitting distance of Chapel Hill in the NCAA's...

I'm not saying Villanova IS going to win it all, or do whatever, I AM saying they have as good a chance as anyone.  Texas and Kansas, are legit tho.

I was responding mainly to the ridiculous comment that almighty Cuse would "run Nova out of the gym", followed by more comments about Purdue burying Nova, and other drivel.  People have a tendency to throw around big words and make harsh statements like "bury, beatdown, run off court" when they just lost $ betting against that team.  It's called sour grapes.

UNC Forever: Nova is the real deal.Not sure why are knitpicking them but as rzagza has said just look at thge stats and the roster. In UNC and Duke they get all the best recruits and should be in contention every year.Don't worry your team will get its shot next year or tye following but not this year.By the way it gets sickening hearing about rthr great coaching with those 2 teams.I could coach those teams with the top players that they draw.

Not trying to get into an argument with anyone, but Reynolds and the boys took it right to the hoop last year in the Elite Eigh against DeJuan Blair, Tyrelle Biggs, Sam Young, and a very good Pitt team.  Corey Fisher and Scotty Reynolds drive as good as any guards in the nation in my opinion.  Villanova returns all but one of their studs from a team that went to the Final Four last year, so I don't know how anyone could say that they are not contenders.  Just my humble opinion.
