I don't think Covers cares about banning winners. Most gamblers have so many bad habits that they'll go broke following winners anyway. They also sell lots of advertising and the rates have to be based upon viewership. Books just want action, as evidenced by them giving away bonuses when you deposit money. They know that over time gamblers will not use discipline and will end up losing money. As for covers - it looks like they get money from 2 sources: 1) Selling advertising on their site - which is based upon #users, amount of time the users are on the site - as evidenced by views, etc. 2) Selling the services of their experts from which I assume they make a percentage.
That's it. No conspiracy theory. No Jason Bourne superspies putting out hits on the big winners.
Seems they only want to eliminate any touts who compete against their second revenue stream.
Seems reasonable to me.
