I hope not Bob! If Masai Ujiri can't resign Kawhi as a Raptor then I'd rather him go to the LA Clippers. I've always admired this Lakers organization growing up in the seventies right through to the Kobe Bryant era but I don't respect what's going down now with this store bought talent just to appease a 35 year old basketball player that's on a career downturn whether fans want to admit it or not. I hope it blows up in the Lakers face, it will look good on them!

Lakers will have either 24m or 32m to sign a free agent depending on the official AD trade date. With 32m, they will be able to give a max contract to someone (Kawhi, Kemba). It looks like the Lakers will be replacing the W's for the next 4 years atop the West.

Should be easier to get Klay Thomson and/or Kemba Walker, or Kyrie . Many veterans want to hitch onto a likely playoff and title contender in a major market.
The worst markets to go to are New Orleans or Detroit. Tennis shoes and jersey sales will simply NOT HAPPEN in these markets. The demographics do not support it, and this is why AD wanted out in his prime.
The Lonzo Ball brand will truly stagnate in New Orleans, and there is no guarantee Lonz can play a full season, esp if he has to wear his own slippery brand of shoe. Lonzo would have to make the playoffs, have a complete breakout year.
