“Apparently that wasn’t enough to gamble a draft choice on Jackson, who signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent shortly after the seventh round concluded Saturday.
It was a bitter fall for a player who made a huge mistake applying for the draft after his junior season. And it underscores two points that should be screamed from the mountaintops after every NFL draft:
Players must be careful who they listen to when making a life-altering choice with their talent.”
Sitting behind...Josh Allen.
This guy WAS the entire Buffalo team in their most incredible season. Now, *poof*, gone and undrafted. An irreplaceable talent at that level.
When the Buffalo team total comes out the under will be given a VERY hard look on my part.

He was not the entire team. UB had 10 players on the All-MAC first and second teams, including a RB, 2 WRs and the TE.
Even if went back for another year, he could have been undrafted next year. Had he been drafted in the 6th or 7th round, he may not be in as good a situation as he is now with the Bills.
If you want to say UB is screwed, then that I can agree with. I doubt there will be much value on the team total under because they lost so much to graduation and transfers in addition to losing Tyree. They do return all the RBs....
Every year 30 to 35 juniors declare for the draft and don't get picked.

He was far from the entire team as Thorpe mentioned ....
Watching Tyree was painful at times , he'd miss wide open receivers far too many often , or he would skip the open Target and throw to another option that was triple covered ...
The 2nd half of the MAC TITLE game he was shook , looked fragile and afraid....
Wish he would have waited another year , but again like Thorpe Im not sure he would have been drafted .
Might be the perfect landing spot on the Bills who have Allen , Barkley and Derek Anderson who might retire and join the coaching staff ....
Could see Jackson sticking as the #3 in the City that already loves him ...

Tyree Jackson was never considered a serious NFL QB prospect.. He's an athlete playing QB...Was successful in college due to his physical stature and playing in a lower level conference. He barely threw for 3100 Yards and was more effective running the ball than throwing the ball. He should move to TE if he wants a shot at an NFL career.

There's a guy who through for 2800 yards who just went #6.

He really didn't run that much this season , injured his ankle in the 2nd game , and was often seen limping ...
Tyree looks for the home run and often skips the wide open short target ....
The weather here sucks ...Not sure anyone would have thrown the ball well in 60+mph winds he played in 1 game , and the 40mph winds and driving sleet in another ...
I'd give him a 5-10% chance of making the Bills , and thats mainly because Derek Anderson has already been rumored to join the coaching staff ....

We don’t need to parse words when I say he was “the entire team”.
That is playing a futile game of semantics to prove yourself right and me wrong.
Of COURSE they had players at other positions including WR.
But their QB was far and away better than anything they ever had and obviously QB is the most important position by far.
And now he’s long gone, undrafted and Buffalo will be left floundering. Even if they lost all those other positions they could still build around him. Now they can’t even do that.

Went to the spring game ....
The BULLS appear to be in big trouble ....Kyle Vantrese might not be able to throw an accurate 3 yard dump off ....
The Defense looked like the 85 Bears , with all credit going to a horrible O Line , WRS who can't catch and a QB that looked. Scared for his life despite not being able to be touched .....
If their season wins is 5 or more ..the Under might be a huge play

Good, valuable info.
Man I’d love to be at a Purdue or Rutgers spring game for capping purposes.
75K is nothing Thorpe. Most of us on here make that in a year. This guy has one talent in life, to throw a football (and he’s clealry an NFLer that is, among the most elite in the world even as a 3rd stringer), and 75K may be all he’ll make from it. Then what?

Derek Anderson retired so Tyree is 3rd string right now.
75K is more than he would make in the CFL.for a whole season.
It isn't life-changing money for everyone, but it is for some people. I don't know what his background is....I brought it up more as an indication that the Bills like him and will probably have a roster spot for him which would be something like 500K/year...

I think I read a MAC 2019 football preview that said one of the strong points of this UB team was the O-line. Guess it's more fake news...

RESPECT & LOVE You BROTHER ....
But C'mon Man
Guarantee Any Wanna Be Pro Football would Love a chance to compete for a 2nd/3rd String QB JOB IN THE NFL !!!!
Sure Tyree could get Cut at anytime .... Major Flaws in his game ....Tends to go for the Home Run. ...Often doesn't see open Receivers ...Might have been too caught up in all the DRAFT hype as far back as week 5 !!!!
On the Plus Side Jackson can gun it Deep, over the top , hold the ball until the last second ... escape the Pocket ..... tough kid who might have played 15 out of his last 22 gamess Injured .....His O Line was much better suited for run Blocking , than zone read blocking vs solid pass rushers /blitzers ...
I personally was praying my Bills would draft him in the 6-7th round.....Jackson has already proven he can play in the Brutal Buffalo Weather ..
Have seen much better QBS suck here in the elements ....
Only time will tell .....
Would not be shocked to TYREE START a game this year ....Josh Allen's fearless play leaves him vulnerable.....
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

I've watched all his games .....
You don't want Jackson ever blocking D LINEMAN or catching a ball in traffic ...
Guessing how this kids will pan out in the NFL is like rolling 18 sided dice ....

Tyree got 75K guaranteed from the Bills, which is pretty good for UFA.
Bulls also had Drew Willy who was a 4 year starter and who won a MAC championship. He made a couple NFL rosters before a decent CFL career.
Even if Tyree didn't declare I am told he would have been a graduate transfer, so the team was screwed anyways.
Heard the same .... Sullivan said Tyree was Possibly going to Transfer to a BIG10 school ..
Dream come True for Jackson ...
Sounds like he appreciates the opportunity to play for the Bills , and has NO sour grapes he didn't get drafted
can't Believe anyone would think $75k from an NFL Franchise to tryout / have a chance to be the 2nd /3rd string QB is some some sort of a let down ...
Was so happy to hear Anderson Retired ...Either he goes back to his Family , or joins the staff as rumored .
Believe this gives Tyree a 50/50 chance to make the Bills ...
From what I hear Barkley is a top shelf team guy , who has mentored /worked with Allen since his signing ...Matt had a very impressive start last season ....

DU, couldn't agree more, especially with Tyree's injury history, going back for a senior year would be a huge gamble.
I was told Nebraska was interested in him as a transfer...
I think Tyree has about a 75% chance to make the Bills. He is a really good guy to have as 3rd string, because it is possible NFL coaches can fix his flaws.
The strength of the Bulls next year is Running Back. They have 4 very strong RBs coming back. It is the rest of the roster that needs work...

I’m sorry but you both are of an opinion that is obtuse.
75K is NOTHING in 2019.
A manager of Shop Rite makes that much a year. But here’s the kicker: the general manager gets to keep his job the next year and has the skills to run another grocery store.
Tyree has ONLY football (for all intents and purposes).
Lose football? Lose almost everything. And 75K is your payday as the greatest QB ever from your school (by far).
Tyree has the skills to be a starter. So to be a THIRD stringer now? What a letdown imo.
The other problem is he’s in the WORST position to showcase his skills. He won’t see the field to make a difference.
This isn’t Wayne Chrebet out of Hofstra at WR sideline leaping catches to make the team.
Stay in school build your skills base and get paid a significant sum more as a legit backup the next year on a team that can use you.

There are about 10,000 former college QBs who would beg to get paid $75k for a tryout with one of the World's 32 NFL TEAMS ...If he makes the team I believe the minimum rookie contract is $480k !!!
He should have a 50/50 shot of making the team ...Supposedly he looked good at the recent rookie camp ...They said he was the first one there everyday and the last one to leave ....OTA'S start this week , I'll post what I hear/read ....
in the city of Buffalo can get you a decent 3-4 bedroom house for under 80k ...
Tyree wasn't staying at UB regardless , he was planning to transfer to Nebraska or elsewhere

Tyree isn't the healthiest QB. A team like Nebraska might have wanted him to run more. I heard his injury history scared away a lot of teams (same with A Johnson). One more injury, and maybe he doesn't even get an NFL look...
Not all of us are millionaires like the OP who pisses on 75K, but that is a lot of money for a lot of people, and a lot of former QBs would pay 75K to get the shot that Tyree is getting
