The old rule was really unfair, this one is somewhat more fair... i guess it could still get better somehow.
i do like the current format as i disagree with the argument about a game where the defenses hasnt been stoping the other team... Football is offense, defense and ST... i like that in this format you need to utilice all facets of football.
What do you think of the NCAAF format?

It's as fair as you can make it
If you want it changed so both teams get the ball in OT the mindset is totally different.
If the first team gets the ball and they are 4th and 10 at their own 25, they are going to kick it
Different scenario now lets say the first team scores a TD and the second team has a 4th and 10 at its own 25. They will go for it because they have to. You are asking a defense to make a 4th down stop everytime in this scenario which is absolutely unfair.
Also making them play another full quarter is asking a lot since both teams are gassed - this will never fly

agree, maybe 5 min quarter and thats it but i guess the problem there is that they are very likely to end up in a tie and play another 5

No overtime rule change will matter as long as refs control the outcome of the game. If the Chiefs won the coin toss, they somehow would have been stopped by the refs. No wonder people are disillusioned by NFL and some college football, too.

play a full 15 min quarter and see how that plays out if its 7-7 and then as time expires
gostkowski kicks a game winner thats fine, 10-7 patriots win. the talking heads always
mention its like a new game and its zero to zero , let it play out that way.
