I was thinking along the same lines as you about the match.
I know Nadal is a competitor, but with Ferrer’s career winding down and being a friend... -10 is a lot.
Prime time too. My gut says Nadal at least gives Ferrer and the fans a little bit of the show and not a complete rout
I think I’m just going to lay off personally

Im purely speculating Nadal will carry Ferrer in the first set during their ponyshow

It might take Nadal a set to get settled in and find his range. Last year he lost the first set of the USOpen then hammered it home. Best bet might be to take the chance on Ferrer +2.5. Ferrer is a grinder and plays lots of shots side to side but doesn't have a powerful serve or forehand. He will contest a lot especially early, so if Nadal doesn't have his range early Ferrer could find himself up a set then get demolished once Nadal settles in. I feel like it's asking a lot for anyone to cover 10 games. Nadal would have to push from the get go with no let down. So I think I agree with taking Ferrer especially if you get +10.5 (Bovada is at +10 right now).
That being said, Ferrer did just lose 6-2 6-2 to Paire. Match wasn't even close at any point.
