Loses to Leo Mayer first round today despite not being broken over 3 sets...Anderson is completely out of form, and could very well be victim to an early round upset at Wimbledon...i will be looking to fade him in his opening rds depending on the opponent...ever since his USO finals, mentally he has disappeared and lost that late career hunger and motivation to win...looks like hes just satisfied with his slam runner up result and not willing to exert further effort to improve or even just maintain his rankings...very tough times ahead for Anderson as his ranking will slip even further.

He was 23-9 this season before losing today, that is hardly someone who is satisfied with a US Open finals. He's been to three finals, and one semi final this year as well. Also, if he wasn't broken how does that mean he is out of form?

His now 23-10 impressive record came from early on during the hard court swing in January/February/March against mainly inferior opponents...over the past 3 months hes done nothing but win against people he should be waxing, so what are you guys talking about? Sure clay is not his best, but some of his losses are head scratchers...and yeah a better form Anderson would not have lost 2 tbs today vs a non-grass courter like Mayer.

Kevin Anderson is notorious for not being able to get out of his own way. Let's not forget about his match against Schwartzman at RG... serving for the match in the 3rd and 4th sets and gets broken both times.
I'd compare him to Querrey at this point. Both have huge serves and can hit big off the ground but can't seem to close out quality opponents on a big stage.
