I've been betting on football for 59 years and like to think I know (or should know by now) that defense is even more important come playoff time. I watch a ton of games, being retired, and have watched Pittsburgh 6 or 7 games (not all of their games mind you) and I've seen their defense get exploited and watched them give up an awful lot of big plays. Now, for a second seeded playoff team, this is not normal to what I am used to as a rule. I know there have been tems in years past that have had suspect defenses and made it to the playoffs, and some who've gone quite deep into the playoffs and have actually won it all, but I just saw that Pitt has opened as a 7 - 7.5 point chalk over Jax next week.
I know all about how inept Blake Bortles is and how awful he and the offense (mostly him) looked today, but yet they won on defense and a decent running game. Sure, it was only against Buffalo and a QB who was actually worse than Bortles! Where I'm going with all this jibberesh is that Jax has proven they have an outstanding defense, ststistically better than Pitt's. Big Ben has seen better times and is lacking the mobility he once had and would be helpful having against this Jax defense.
We all know that Jax buried Pitt earlier this year, but that doesn't mean that much. You can't count on that happening again and Pitt's locker room is most likely plastered with that game's score all over the place. But what I do say is I like the defense of Jax and getting 7 points versus a team that has had a very porous D a good deal of the time that I have watched them, even with Blake Bortles at QB and even though they are on the road and even though Pitt had an extra week to rest and mend up and even though it will likely be colder than Jax would like.
Feel free to blast away at this old man and tell me why I'm wrong, only a fool does not listen to what others have to say, but I refuse to back away from taking Jax plus the 7 (it'll probably go down). That's one of the greatest lessons I've learned in betting these games for 59 years.......... NEVER CHANGE YOUR MIND!!!

Loved favorites this week and hit some nice teasers... Went big on Jags/Saints (did sweat a little) Think I'm going to tease some faves next week as they all look pretty good. Leaning ATL, Steelers, Pats... And yes I'd consider teasing over zero w ATL.

tomlin isnt a good coach..in that match up vs the jags he put the game in big bens hands when they really should have just run it all day with leveon because jags were really struggling stopping the run back then.
we will see if they change gameplans. at the same time i dont think pittsburgh has been too efficient running the ball this year. so instincts will kick in and pittsburgh will start chucking it. a key is if martavis bryant is actually effective. because with AB, juju and him that is 3 incredible wr's and leveon is not too shabby himself. i lean jags. think minny might be the better play though.

I think with ABs injury if they can give Lev the ball 35+x they walk out of Heinz field easy winners and will be on to New England. I can see this being like a 35-17 type of game.
