Two even teams in my book even with Kam and Sherman out. Yes....I just said that because when you factor in the home field along with all the positions, I feel these two teams are even and no I'm sorry, I put no weight into last year's playoff game. Here is where we may see an advantage though. Espn has basically asked the question, "Is this the end of the legion of boom"? I mean they have showed us the numbers on how average Seattle is when the big 3 (Sherman, Thomas and Kam) don't play together and they've basically reminded us of the fact that Julio has only 1 TD in 76 targets. Oh....the media! What is their intent with these articles? See....I was leaning Atlanta but when you peel everything back, where has Atlanta struggled this year? Their inability to run the ball consistently and their inability to protect Ryan. Has the front 7 of Seattle changed at all everyone? Nope. If anything they have more depth, right? So how do you disguise an average secondary? A pass rush. I know this because I am a Bears fan and in the Urlacher and Briggs days along with the deep d line, our pass rush helped that secondary a lot unless we were playing the Packers!
All we've heard about this week has been the injuries to the stars of the Seahawks and don't get me wrong, I feel it's a big loss but sacks are down for Atlanta, their secondary is porous and Russ has a lot of weapons. No talk about that? Who is gonna guard Graham out wide? You got Baldwin, Richardson and a very underrated back in McKissack who is a matchup nightmare for a linebacker. Rawls and Lacy are a go and as bad as their ability has been to run the ball, could this be the nite we see it. Russ can run too and if his jaw were that bad, he wouldn't be playing.....
As for Atlanta, they will have to get the ball out quick imo. Julio and Sanu are big boys so that is where they can make their money tonite. Quick hits inside but they'll still have to worry about Thomas who will be the best defensive player on both teams tonite. If Atlanta has any sort of a running game tonite....Seattle has no shot. If Atlanta gets time to throw, they will dominate. I dont think they get that time though. Do NOT be fooled about this Seattle defense, they will be playing with a lot of pride and don't think for once that the offense isn't ready to do their part tonite knowing that the Seattle defense in the past years has bailed out the team many times. The money is basically even in this game and the easy pick tonite imo would be to look at Atlanta but for some reason, it seems too easy. People have been saying taking the Hawks would be too easy yet how is that? No Sherman, no Kam?
Im excited for this game tonite because I feel we finally get a really good, competitive game with a ton on the line. Whoever wins this game has the tiebreaker between the two and it essentially outs the loser in a tough spot with how each teams schedule sets up.

atlanta is still the awful team tha loss to miami and the jets, last week win over dallas was a fluke as dallas was missing his best lineman, it was an easy task to get pressure on dak and plie up the sacks, seattle will be more focused, they been hearing all this days how great the falcons were vs dallas and how they will get crushed with out their studs corners...... i expect 200% max effort and a seattle win

Anyone who automatically backed the Over in the next primetime game following one that went Under, would sport a 9-1-1 record this season. SNF went Under, so...

Agree with stopping the run as the key. No Freeman for Atlanta and the hardest hitting safety in Thomas back on the field will give Atlanta fits.
Sherman is an all time great, but he was not looking like the Sherman of old this year...so him not on the field is not the Huge loss everyone is making out to be. Especially facing M. Ryan who has been off a tick with his offense all year.
All Seattle is hearing is no more legion of boom and season is over....this game is in their house and Sherman is still in the building inspiring his team mates who will play for him.
Seattle wants this game and I believe they will get it.
