I wondered if the other old flart would check in on that.
Well I did not realize how much those few years between us were that important, like I remember we had a tv when I was in first grade, but only 4 channels and no cable of course. We all remember what we were doing when JFK was killed and we all saw Oswald get shot on TV,still black and white. Williams and Stan the Man were in their last few years that I remember. I can still see the last out in the 62 WS-Giants-NYY,and I know we had a car in 59,and Mom's did scream out the door when all the kids were playing outside,Dinner and time to come in.Mantle legs were on the way out though I did see him have a few good years, and I remember the Giants and Dodgers moving out of NY to Calif. Awesome times to grow up,esp.Calif.in late 60s.

As far as football I have FH under 33 in CFB and over 61 for game, also Rams-3 against my Team, who I will be dropping soon,,so I am going Indians for baseball and not sure about NFL yet,but 49ers suck, terrible QB for them.

Drugs, sex and rock'n'roll. Nothing worthwhile happened in California in the late 60's. Giants and Dodgers were already there and Woodstock was in N.Y.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

We were 11 miles outside of Woodstock and traffic was horrendous and it was pouring. Gave up, turned back and ended up spending the next five days of the trip in NJ. Had a few friends who attended and made some nice cash.

It's true, the 72. I only missed the surrender of Japan by a month. I got to see Mantle and Mays as rookies, and Williams and Musial were the greatest players at that time. I can actually remember when we did not have a television and my dad did not have a car. The college football season was 9 games and there were only six bowl games and the East-West Shrine and North-South all-star games. Vince Lombardi rules the NFL and there was no AFL (America Conference now). My list of memories is long and distinguished. Men brought their paychecks home and every Mom knew every kid and his mother for three blocks in any direction. The parochial schools were taught by nuns and 90% of the cops were Irish (1005 of the F.B.I.). Those were the days my man.

Well there would be one caveat. You buy the beer until others fascinated by my encyclopedic knowledge and enthralled by the stories start to pony up and buy rounds. Always happens. Guys like Truman, Kennedy and Nixon were more interesting than the history books tell you, lol.
Whenever I am around there is an endless supply of beer. Somhow it always happens.
