I think they are the better team -- better coach -- better starting five -- I think Houston probably leads for a bit of the game but I see the Clippers by 4 or 5 in the end -- 50/50 action so far

So you mean to tell me in the begging the Rockets were:
Game 1: 7 point favorites
Game 2: 8 point favorites
Game 5: 3 point UNDERDOGS
Game 7: 2.5 point UNDERDOGS ( at open )
Do the books think people are dumb? They open up a home team (which wins over 80% of game 7s) against a struggling and tired team
ya gotta put things in context tho...those lines for the first games took into account a missing or limited chris paul, clearly a HUGE part of the clippers winning chances...and then the later lines wud have taken into account the massive beat-downs houston caught in the previous games so probably a wee adjustment by a point or so once it was realised that clippers looked the far superior team(just based on that small sample).
bobmalooga is rite tho, clippers are certainly the superior team.....its strange how perceptions can change at the drop of a hat,go back a few days and the entire forum had clippers as dead-set stone cold lock certainties, and probably rightfully so.
but sports can do funny things wen ya give away momentum and confidence, clippers playing with fire having to go onto sumone elses court after just handing over momentum.....in the end i think clippers find a way,my god they will never live it down if they were to go out in this manner dropping 3 in a row and having that mental implosion on the way.

They know that most people expect the Clippers to dominate and bet them as the slight favorite but it may not be so easy.
If the Rockets stay the underdog I'm pretty sure that they advance to the WCF
You must not know how vegas works. They don't do the same thing every time, or they'd be caught on to easily by the public. They like to keep you guessing. So, while in one instance they make the home team a dog, and they win, in another instance the road favorite will win. I mean, this is as simple as you can get. How can you not know this? Did you just start betting last week or something?
This is one of those instances where vegas is just being greedy and they don't want anyone to get a good price in clippers because they know clippers are going to win. It's that simple.

The clippers-spurs series debunks your entire premise.

No it doesn't. Like I said vegas does different things in the same situations. Right now they are not giving anyone plus money on clips because there's probably way too much on the clippers already. This is their way of balancing it out so they don't lose too much. They know Houston stands no chance or else Houston would be the favs.
Trust me bro, take clippers or stay away from this one. Don't waste money on the rockets...unless you take the spread then you might win. I can see this being a 2 pt game

Even if the books didn't know who was going to win this one, then it's obvious by the spread that they think clippers will win. How often do you see a team go into houston and actually be the favorite? Not too often. So, bet with vegas on this one. Vegas thinks clippers will win and I'd rather bet with them because they are right most of the time.

The books set the Clippers as the favorite, not because they're the better team, but because the public perceives them to be.
This series actually reminds me of 2003 between the Magic and Pistons.
Houston is the better team in this series but they had the worse coach. If McHale got his head out of his behind it wouldn't have been 7 games.

Houston is only the better team if Harden gets 11-12 free throws. That makes them a good bet against anybody. But take those free throws away and they can lose to just about anyone.

But you also need to keep in mind that role players traditionally play better at home so the "star" Harden may not be needed.
Also, who was the coach for the 2003 Magic that had the epic collapse? Yep, Doc Rivers who was fired after that.
