The True Story:
The alleged institution of higher learning known as the " university" of Kentucky put its media relations people on overtime Saturday night after one of its more well known "student-athletes" was stupid enough to be caught making bigoted racial remarks because he didn't have the common sense to know microphones amplify words. The student-athlete, who will be a student until about Monday morning, was instructed by the strategists in the media department that he would be apologizing for his " poor choice of words " , and that somehow, some way, someone might perceive his use of the ' N ' word the wrong way. After collaborating with university personnel by articulating the word " Huh ? " , the " student " was further instructed that his use of the N word was made in " jest " . Continuing the dialog, the student agreed that he " jest said it " and that for media purposes, his use of the vile word to describe an opposing player was " jest a mistake " and that what he really meant was " good game." A spokesperson for the alleged university said it was looking into the matter and quoted the student-athlete as assuring university officials that " my use of such insensitive epithets will not be part of the discourse in the future.
