- Their D has been a little more opportunistic and forcing turnovers compared to San Fran. Car better run d and pass d. Both of their pass D are about the same, not super great but are good due to their front seven bringing pressure.
-I think it comes down to which team turns over the ball more.. I think Newton has taken care of the ball better.. And Kap has been prone to throwing the INT at times if I remember??
- I also like the Panthers have 60 sacks in the reg season and 49ers have 38 sacks. And Car O-line has done a better job protecting
.Advantage - Panthers
But the 49ers will be alot better this time with Crabtree back and Vernon Davis didn't play last time. the 49ers will have more opportunities to exploit the Carolina secondary since they have more star players on the offensive side. That's only if Car can't get pressure on Kap
Just boils down to Veteran road tested been there before team versus a young, inexperienced, hungry, been down in the dumps for so long with a chip on their shoulder team. I'll take the more exciting team in Riverboat Ron & the Carolina Panthers. Should be a coinflip really but I hope the Panthers emerge victorious
I am prediciting/would like to see Panthers vs Broncos in the Super Bowl. John Fox vs his former team. Make it happen!!
It all comes down
Well said! Funny, I just placed a bet on Panthers vs Broncos Super Bowl.
Like some of the other posters, I see this game going down to the wire. And for the reasons listed above, I too am on the Panthers.
A couple points, rest, homefield and SammyAce's endorsement is more than enough for me!

SF -1 (now at 2) - I caught -1 earlier this week but still think they'll cover with Crab. V.Davis and Aldon Smith back, i'll bet the niners on revenge mode this week. The last game between the 2 was lost by the niner O-line IMHO, they'll have to give Kaep more time if they expect to get by Carolina this week. SCORE: Forty-niners 24 - Panthers 20

Just read all of the comments. Interesting. I live in Reno and met Kap on campus days after one of his better college performances. He was polite and cool-headed about it. He may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to intel but as an athlete he is a beast. The last thing the Panthers want to see is Kap breaking loose of the the d-line. Fastest running qb that I have seen in college or pro.
Game could come down to special teams and/or the intangibles: penalties, turnovers and injuries.
The Panthers are playing a different 49er team this week. Crabtree/Davis make the difference. Niners by 6

I was thinking the same thought with the Pats. What do you think Quad ? Tease the home teams with the two week prep ? Except for Denver vs SD which could be a shootout. Yet Seattle with the better D could stifle Brees again. Need your help Quad.
Yeah, I was big on the Panthers S/U, but teasing seems like the safer wager.....

UNDER all day. These defense were built to stop the style of the opposing offenses in this one. With Steve Smith likely out or very limited, who do the Panthers throw to down the field that is realistically dangerous? And what about SF? They are horrible in pass offense. Both teams are built to play rock wall defense and pound the ball on offense. As I said, both can stop or seriously slow ground and pound style offenses. Carolina being without (or limited) Smith and Stewart removes about 100 yards offense from the first meeting and the downfield passing dimension from their offense. SF will run it again and again regardless. This game sets up as 2 teams trying their best to avoid an offensive mistake as they know one turnover could cost the ballgame. Pound the UNDER.

Panthers in a PK...No offense EWILLIE, but u are wrong 80 percent of the time, and i love the fact that u like the niners, I went 4-0 fading u last week, and 8-2 fading u last year! Panthers by a little

Such a public view/opinon... "Carolina because they won 10-9 and last 4 vs 49ners" Yes... exactly what they want to know and think and bet on... Then when you kaepernick (SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN TO A SUPERBOWL vs CAM NEWTON FIRST PLAYOFF GAME IN HOW MANY YEARS NOW???) You will beat you head into a board and go to bed early and drunk and disgruntled.
Meanwhile, I will be laughing at you all, cashing my Big 49ners Ticket and taking my whole family out shopping and poppin bottles that evening. 49ners large, not even looking back

Lots of good points being brought up by 49er-backers and rightfully so! They are one of the best teams in the NFL and having Crabtree back is a big deal. I just think these teams are fairly similar, but the cards are stacked for Carolina to pull off a close one.
-bye week vs physical back-to-back road game in a subzero vortex / advantage CAROLINA
-home field where they went 7-1 vs traveling across the entire country for a 1:00 start time on the east coast / advantage CAROLINA
-Panthers already went into Candlestick and won!!! / advantage CAROLINA
If I were still running the Tangiers, I would have set the line at Carolina -3 and welcomed boat loads of public money on the under dog San Fran. But now all the books use these silly computer-generated algorithms to set lines...these kids with their computers!! I miss the old days when the wise guys had more say on the action.
Needless to say, it's the playoffs and the 49ers are preferred by the public because of last year's near Super Bowl win, and because the Panthers are an unproven commodity in the playoffs. As a gambler, investor, or trader, our goal is to look for value. And in my opinion, the value is with the Panthers at a pick'em. As scary as it feels to bet against Harbaugh and the 49ers, sometimes the harder bet is the right one.
So I'm sticking w Carolina because some of the cardinal rules of situational betting tell me they are the play, and I'm not going to re-invent the wheel just because we are in the playoffs. I hope some of you guys took the under on the Saints/Seahawks and have a free roll for Sunday.
