all you clowns who think about these conspiracy theories in major north American pro sports: give your head a shake. SERIOUSLY!
Do you really think there are closed door meetings with the NHL and officials (they are two entirely different enitities) deciding how a game will play out? and spy games with certain teams? NO!
It was an odd call at an odd time, yes. But it's not a plot for gaming houses or NHL gains.
Ya, there was the NBA official who got busted, but that was him personally. And that type of thing happens practically NEVER.

The ref made the call based on what wasn't called against Filipula early in the game. Should have a call been made? probably not. But when a player is lost to the game via similar circumstance I can understand making the call to protect the players.
Also the back refs job is to look for shenanigans behind the play... the front ref keeps his eye on the puck and the scoring play. He had no idea what was going on until the crowd went beserk.

Ok lets just believe everything oh everythings a coincidence lets just trust that everything is just perfect and fine trust the refs no hidden agendas oh wait.. Ya NBA ref got busted (but of course that happens practically NEVER lol).. Ya cuz you know every ref personally right? I never said there was closed door meetings and stuff like that never said how but the evidence don't lie. Your about as nieve as they come with your post there.. I'm sure Michael Jackson didn't touch little kids either right...
You guys know sport is a business right? They arent just out there playing for fun. A business can be run however they seem fit. It is not illegal for any sport to fix a game.
Do you know the $ amount impact that call had on the sports betting world? I don't know the $ amount but I can believe it was probably in the tens of millions at least. But oh just a bad call yup yup yup...lol.
It amazes me how nieve people are man. They won't even give it thought that its rigged because they dont wanna believe that their precious sport is tainted and the sport they bet is corrupt. I fkn love hockey it is in my blood and I still am not wearing the blinders.

I am in no way saying every game is fixed and they can control every game because that is impossible. But they can make a call like this one if theres an opportunity. I don't know what each refs agenda is in every sport but there are chances to control a game with calls here and there at the right times. And someone can make a lot of money in the long run when they are 'in the know'. Like.. A lot of money.
I'm done arguing for it the people that aren't gonna believe, aren't gonna believe they have their right. I'm just putting my opinion out there.
