The oldest team in NBA history, the Knicks, are the type of team that benefits immensely from the All-Star break.
Coming off 2 losses they should have motivation and the requisite energy to get back on track against a well-known foe.
I am still not sold on this Pacers team as a possible championship contender until Granger returns. P. George deserves his accolades, but Jason Whitlock's recent column proclaiming them the biggest threat to the Heat, in the entire NBA, was patently absurd. They have beaten a rather disinterested Miami team twice, but do they have any other similar caliber wins? Not really. They have defeated (Rose-less)Chicago and Memphis twice for other quality wins. That's about it. Their sole win against the Knicks came without Melo, so not really much of an accomplishment.
The Pacers are also 6-9 SU and ATS against top 10 offensive teams.
Though the Knicks rely on the 3 ball too much and the Pacers defend it extremely well, Melo is the best player on the floor and he will make the difference, imo. If George is on Melo, he will overpower and shoot right over him. If it's West, Melo will just drive right by him.
The Pacers biggest weakness remains at SG. Stephenson and Johnson are not NBA starters. With Kidd, J.R. Smith and Brewer, I fully expect the Knicks to exploit this advantage.
I also really like Shumpert on the floor to cover George. He makes the rotations so much more fluid and allows Chandler to lay back and await drivers into the lane.
Though the Pacers offense has looked more explosive lately, the rhythm will be slow for extended stretched with these two bottom 5 paced teams. I think that favors the more complete and diversified offensive team tonight.
I like the Knicks to get back in a groove tonight, after resting for a full week.
Knicks +3.5 and ML is my wager. Good luck with whatever you play.

Ack, on the other side on this one m_w ... hate being opposite you but I think that NYK will have trouble with IND defensive effort tonight. IND already only gives up an average of 89.9 PPG to opposing teams and gives up a league-low 5.2 3PM per game, holding teams to a league-low 32.5% from three. We know NYK lives and dies with the three ball... just seems like a tough matchup for NYK for me on this one.

I think we see some lapses on defense from Indy and NY takes advantage.

what will happen to the pacers when granger gets back will they get better or worse, i think possibly worse
stephenson will be a super sub coming off the bench for defensive purposes. With Granger coming back to the lineup, they get even bigger, longer and more lethal offensively.

I am completely shocked that IND is taking them to the woodshed like this though. I know they are good at defending the 3, but 1-14 from distance for NYK with 3 mins left in first half is just insane and could not have been predicted.
