Start of week 2, I always like to take the 1st week and just watch, but now it's time to make some money
How I do things is very simple....as the title indicates, I only make 1 play a day, but it's for $1,000. Max line is -150, so I play the ML when I can. My goal for the week is to go no worse then 4-3, but as soon as I hit 4 wins for the week I stop.
I have wagered on sports for over 20 years, and I have had some amazing streaks, both hot and cold. But in learning and refining my wagering skills, I have found that the biggest impediment to long-term success has been lack of discipline with respect to number of plays, as well as money management. So I found that the best way to ensure that I stay disciplined in both areas is to stick to this 1 play/fixed unit system. And since the primary objective is to win more money then you lose - not to have fun, and not to bet every day - stopping midweek to ensure that the next meeting with your bookie is pleasurable is a great idea.
So what I do is look at all the lines and think about the ones that I like, and slowly I eliminate them one by one until I find the play that I like the most.
Here's what I like today:
Philly - I feel like NY has overachieved to this point, but hard to fade a team that's yet to lose.....you never know how long these season opening winning streaks can last
Brooklyn - Love this team and they have a great home vibe that they never had before, plus Minny coming off a bad loss in Toronto last night, but this game has back-door cover written all over it.
San Antonio - Just another day at the office for the most professional team in the association, this one just missed out as the play
But the play today is:
Sacramento ML (-130) - I really like the makeup of this team and they have battled but come up short in all 3 road games to start the season, losing in Chicago 93-87, then a letdown in Minny, losing 92-80, before taking the Pacers to OT and losing 106-98.....now they get their home opener, and with the typically raucous home crowd, I feel confident that they can earn their 1st win of the season.
$1300 to win $1000.
