This bet still hinges on Kobe's availability. I expect that he will play this evening. If he's declared out, then it's a no play.
Some folks are debating what will happen in game 7 and whether it's wise to bet on a Denver series wager. I think that is the height of presumption and a bad misread of this series.
The series has been very entertaining so far, with the Nuggets clearly outperforming expectations, directly due to JaVale McGee's(and Andre Miller's)stellar nights. Both the Nuggets wins have come when McGee obtains a double-double. Is McGee that good? I think he can be, but he will not likely perform at that high a level tonight. I have seen him play, in person, many times. I remain unconvinced of his consistency. He is the epitome of youth and unevenness. He certainly has skill but his mindset has always been an issue, rightfully so. He was certainly a disenchanted and aloof player while in D.C, who can do some really strange shit:

This Nuggets roster happens to loaded with Jekyll and Hyde types---Harrington, Gallinari, Mozgov, Brewer... Who knows who will play well and who won't each night? I don't. There is no consistency. Maybe Karl knows, but it seems like a crapshoot as to which player will be given shots. It's almost as if they wait to see if one guy is hot and then ride him for however long they can. Not a good game plan. Miller, Lawson, Afflalo and Faried are the only ones who can be often counted on to perform at a certain level.
I still think the Nuggets are a decent team but they need a closer to compete in the talent-laden West in the future.
They will be overmatched tonight, imo. The Lakers are clearly the better team when they play to their potential. Will they tonight? I am wagering so, because of one simple reason: They absolutely do not want to go to a game 7 and face OKC with minimal rest. Bryant, Gasol and Bynum all know the importance of closing out and they have failed once already. They will not fail twice against a team they know they are better than. I know what I am getting with Bryant, Gasol and Bynum. I am entirely unclear which Nuggets team will present itself tonight.

Yeah. I was at that game and remember wondering what the hell is McGee doing running downcourt to play defense with the Wizards controlling the possession?
John Wall's "Dude, WTF?!?!?" look at him was priceless.
